Thanks loads for the exercise advice earlier. Have now turned off auto calorie adjustment for exercise in MFP and will just make manual adjustments as needed, which makes perfect sense. I can cope with a (slow!) 5k run on an empty stomach but 3 hours on a bike would be an absolute killer. Pity I can’t eat my extra 300 cals for yoga though..! Smile

PrimalLass · 30/04/2018 06:05

Morning!

Beginning of week 2. Total loss so far 8lb. Still can't believe it. Very glad you are all here to keep me going as I would normally think job done and back to normal eating. But I do feel that this time I can get past this stupid weight.

Was shopping with DD yesterday and wasn't even tempted to look at clothes. I have far too many already, but am also hoping that I'll eventually be able to buy things in a smaller size. My clothes not fitting was a reason to start this in the first place.

Am on a spending ban this month anyway.

I must start exercising this week. Might have a little more time.

PhyllisWig · 30/04/2018 07:42

Primal lass well done! That's a fab loss. Also well done on the spending ban, you're better woman than I.

W3 weigh in today and 9.5lbs down. Annoyingly, had I counted yesterday as my weigh in day I'd have been 11 lb down but it doesn't really matter :)

I'm within a few lbs of the top end on my maintenance weight so may reach that this week if I'm lucky.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 30/04/2018 07:44

Morning primal, that’s a great loss, we’ll done.

The weekend has paid its toll on me, I ate like a little piggy all weekend and the scales back that up, plus we did some hard work gardening, and I ran every day so think I have a bit of water retention today on top on my additional food retention! I can feel my arm muscles aching from sledge hammering a brick wall to pieces (felt good though, good stress relief)

Less than 4 weeks until we go away and I’m really determined to have a good few weeks and weekends until then. It’s the weekends where it all unravels, it’s usually wine related to be honest, and this weekend we have a 4 day - bank holiday, Dh off work- kind of weekend. So I need to devise some kind of strategy that does not involve drinking whole bottles of wine.....

But anyway- today! Menu done, food shopping this morning, parents coming for lunch and will watch the boy while I go for a quick run. I need to keep out of the kitchen and especially the fridge and curb my grazing/snacking habit so that’s my challenge this week.

PutTheChocEggDown · 30/04/2018 07:51

Well done Primal and Phyllis!

I'm most upset - I have gained 1lb! Think it's because for first time yesterday I didn't have a daily poo! Sorry for TMI Grin

I'm actually quite uncomfortable but I didn't drink enough water yesterday. Probably also the shock of the chicken to my veggie guts- the chicken's revenge!

PrimalLass · 30/04/2018 08:00

I stopped drinking wine a year ago because of a low-carb diet. I was a real white-wine-lover until then and have shocked myself. Gin all the way Grin

PhyllisWig · 30/04/2018 08:16

Choc I can find pooing not a challenge exactly but certainly not as frequent. Up the water

Oblomov18 · 30/04/2018 08:23

Lost 1 lb. Did really well last week, but blew it all at the weekend on wine, crisps and chocolate, whilst away at our caravan in Dorset, for the first time this year.
Why do I do this to myself? Angry

thenewaveragebear1983 · 30/04/2018 08:30

Choc up the fibre too. It’s easy to not get nearly enough if you’re cutting out carbs. I think you should get 14g per 1000 cals of food as a rough guide

Primal the problem with gin is that it stops me sleeping. Maybe I need to just not drink this will never happen!

OP posts:
PrimalLass · 30/04/2018 08:40

Ah my mum says the same. Nothing stops me sleeping.

Snowglobes · 30/04/2018 09:20

Wow! You are all doing so well! I’ve finally lost something!! YEAH!!
Yesterday I lost my first 1lb!! And today another 1lb despite a blow out lunch (pulled pork was gorgeous bear) with a whole bottle of fizzy wine. Blush So that’s 2lb in my first 10 days. Not lots I know but at least it’s a start!
Have prepped lots of low cal BSD foods for the freezer and determined to have a better week. My main concern this week is a ‘cocktail masterclass’!! How on earth can I still go but keep cals to 800? Even if I did mocktails it’ll be lots of juices won’t it? Anyone have any ideas please?

Oblomov18 · 30/04/2018 09:57

Well done Primal and Very on your losses. Really impressive.

I had lamb shank, parsnips and peas for dinner last night. OMG it was sooooo good. and I have it for tonights dinner aswell. Its quite high carb and calorie, 600, so I'm going to have nothing other than liquid today, tea, miso soup. See how I get on with that......

Snowglobes · 30/04/2018 09:57

I’m using the FatSecret app but can’t work out how to put in recipes from the book. I’m getting fed up with adding each ingredient every time. Also looks like my blow out lunch wasn’t sooo bad as even including the bottle of wine I guzzled it’s coming in around 1000 cals and carbs 50g but having to guess amounts I ate as served in large bowls & didn’t weigh my portions.

PrimalLass · 30/04/2018 10:39

The cocktails thing is going to be very difficult. I'd just write off that day and be angelic the rest of the week. I'm going out on Saturday and that's what I'll have to do.

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 30/04/2018 12:06

I've had to accept I can't really BSD or WI atm because between my still limited mobility and different medication plus DS being poorly, my weight is fluctuating wildly. There are too many different stressors to identify which are the culprits so I'm just going to wait until hopefully life gets a little less painful and busy and then come back.

Oblomov18 · 30/04/2018 13:44

Sounds sensible Place Sad

Snowglobes · 30/04/2018 14:45

I agree primal... social events are playing havoc with my good intentions! Hope you start feeling better soon place Flowers

veryveryquietly · 30/04/2018 15:09

Hi place sorry to hear mobility still a problem. You're doing the sensible thing and definitely just take care of yourself for now! Hope DS and you are feeling better soon.

GrimDamnFanjo · 30/04/2018 17:21

This is my 8th week and I have just under 3lbs to lose to hit the 10% of body weight loss, so I'm doing my best to stick to the plan!
I plan to do another 4 weeks then 5:2 for a few weeks as I've got some events and vacations then go for round 2.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 30/04/2018 17:56

Closing the kitchen on 1100 today, 14k steps (including 5k run) and about 28g carbs.

A good day, although straight away didn’t stick to my plan as I had salad lunch instead of a shake. But otherwise it’s been ok, no snacks and good food. But it was the salad lunch that bumped the calories up as I added extras such as avocado- but I had company and it seems antisocial to make a shake and not eat!

Here’s my dinner: teriyaki salmon fillet and stir fry veg, it was really tasty. I’ve also waited until the dc have finished before eating it so I’ve been able to savour it without children’s paws all over it!

Snowglobes
To add recipes I either:
Add all the ingredients I use for the whole dish into a fresh day’s page, then take a screen shot of the totals; later on once I’ve worked out the portions I either do ‘add new food’ and either label it ‘whole dish’ and enter 1/2 or 1/4, or I manually calculate what my one portion was. It’s hassle, granted.

Alternatively, on the home screen click the menu button at the top (it looks like 3 white lines) then scroll down the list to recipes, then once in the recipes click the little + tab at the top right- you can then enter your recipe and then can select it from your list when you enter your daily foods and choose what portion you have (eg 1/4 or 1/2 of whole dish)

Check your region is set to GB too- I struggled for ages until I realised it wasn’t searching uk products!!

Your dinner looks lovely.

My day so far:

B: 2 x boiled egg (again), 2 x coffee and milk
L: bolognese sauce with cauli rice
D: roast chicken with Nando's medium marinade plus asparagus and some sort of salad

PhyllisWig · 30/04/2018 18:54

I had an immense omelette made by dh - feta and spinach plus salad.

Horrid dinner of endamame pasta and a veggie bolognese I had in the freezer. Way too sweet.

Also ANOTHER migraine/allergy headache and wfh day so badly sedentary:(

Pleased others have had a good day though.

PutTheChocEggDown · 30/04/2018 20:06

Still no poo. I know you were all on the edge of your seats waiting for that so I thought I would oblige. According to MFP I have had 22g of fibre today. Maybe I'm not drinking enough. In fact I know I'm not.

I'm a poo a day kind of gal. I miss my poo!

Coming in at 738 cals today! I might go nuts and have some raspberries.

wowfudge · 30/04/2018 20:55

Yesterday started well, apart from the migraine, and then went badly wrong. I was too tired from a busy and full on weekend and caved in Sainsbury's.

Anyway - today I've done okay at 950 calories. I had a co op salad for lunch and Quorn sausages with wild garlic and parsley which were surprisingly nice, baked mushroom and steamed asparagus for tea.
