On day two! Managed to get through yesterday without caving and actually woke up this morning feeling loads better. Off this evening now for a week in a Premier Inn with work so that'll be the real test...
Have weighed and packed an emergency nut supply though!

thebluenailbrush · 26/11/2017 15:12

neenook well done on your first day and 9.7 sounds good for your height, if you feel great at that weight then aim for that. You can always adjust as you near your goal if its feels unmanageable. We should all feel fabulous! Good luck over the next week.

bear boredom and stress are my biggest eating triggers. Saturdays have been hellish as I'm currently studying ALL DAY and would normally reach for endless biscuits to keep me going. Sundays are easier as I see my bf in the evening so have that to look forward to, plus a nice meal (and glass of wine) . However this diet is making me more aware of the fact that I eat to stuff down uncomfortable emotions.

pfrench yay to Pho ! we have one here, i haven't been for years but looks like a great place to go to for a treat

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/11/2017 17:52

Hi all,

A reasonable day for me, did a big food shop which helps because now we actually have BSD food in! Haven't calorie counter today, and I did have a rather chunky chocolate penny, but otherwise I've been good. I feel I'm coming down with something, after a few days feeling very shivery, today I've had a very sore throat although have actually been pretty sprightly during the day. Who knows?

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 27/11/2017 18:29

bear sending you lots of healing wishes and hoping you haven't caught my bug!
I'm currently at my second target weight. First target was healthy BMI which was 10.11 then second was 10.7. But I've only reached it again because I've been ill and it's playing havoc with my appetite eg DH bought me a nice salad today from my favourite sandwich shop and I only ate half of it. That has never happened before Grin

thebluenailbrush · 28/11/2017 09:18

bear stay warm and hope the cold passes over you, sometimes they do.
yesterday was mixed for me. One the one hand i didn't stay on the diet, i forgot my lunch so bought a mezze salad- i knew i should have had the chicken Caesar but i felt so down and it looked so perfect, exactly what I wanted and it is healthy. Anyway shocked at the end to see it had 781 calories, i still find that hard to believe, and had a lot of carbs, some giant cous cous was in there, then lots of hummus, lovely feta cheese, oh my it was good. Apart from that had a bit of milk and 8 almonds so overall still doable to stay within 1,000 calories with a low cal dinner BUT i went to an event straight after work after starting my Christmas shopping/ doing some chores in town, the food was lovely, healthy but not BDS food, homemade hummus, crudities (fine )and amazing fresh white flat breads.
However i was mega pleased with myself because despite my first thought being as i neared home, "must pop into local shop and get ice cream" i didn't and it wasn't a huge struggle to say no. I went home, had a cup of tea and a single biscuit, wanted another but again wasn't a massive tussle to say no. I feel like i'm starting to behave like a slim person naturally does!!
got today all sorted though so back on it.

pfrench · 28/11/2017 11:47

Week 1, 4 lbs down (although I only weighed myself on day 2). Pretty happy with that. Feel so much better in general.

TsunamiOfShit · 29/11/2017 15:26

I've just broken an involuntary 19 hour fast (didn't have time to eat). Strange thing is, I only got hungry at 8am this morning, once that had passed I didn't get hungry again but had some food anyway at 3.30pm.

I'm on day 9 of this diet and have been doing it with intermittent fast, so I haven't been eating between 8pm and 12 noon. Amazing how quickly your body gets used to not constantly being fed!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 29/11/2017 19:59

Well done tsunami, that's a long time!

I've had an ok day today, considering I feel rubbish and Ds has got hand, foot and mouth so he's been miserable as sin all day! After lounging around all morning I dosed him up on Calpol and took him for a long walk round the park. He slept and I walked. It was great to be out in the fresh air.

I'm feeling a bit snacky tonight, just had a few nuts and a pear, and a pint of water.

TsunamiOfShit · 30/11/2017 11:06

Oh poor little one, hope he feels better today!

TsunamiOfShit · 30/11/2017 11:30

I could really do with some inspiration for next weeks meal planning. What are you all planning to eat? Or have you cooked something amazing recently you'd like to share? (With recipes if possible please.)

DP have been really impressed this last week. I've been using recipes from the book and every night he's told me that 'this is probably the best meal you've ever cooked me'. Smile

Almost run out of recipes from the book now though!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 30/11/2017 12:31

My favourites are: a version of Jamie Oliver's chicken and butternut squash Laska curry- it's beautiful, I just leave out the rice! Also we like pizza topped chicken or turkey, or chicken stuffed with cheese or pesto and wrapped in Parma ham. All nice easy meals that everyone will eat.

Ds still poorly, I'm still full of cold, so feeling pretty rubbish in the bear household today! Had an avocado and cheese breakfast, and have leftover cauliflower cheese bake for lunch when I can be bothered.

This one:

I just leave out the rice. It's so delicious.

TsunamiOfShit · 30/11/2017 13:19

Thank you Flowers

Recipe looks lush. Sorry to hear you're both still poorly!

How do you make your cauliflower bake? Just cheese on cauliflower?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 30/11/2017 14:22

Tsunami I just cook a cauli and a broccoli til they are soft, then put them in an oven dish and roughly chop up so it goes into very small pieces (I like it very fine but you could leave it more chunky). Then use a tub of soft cheese- I've used seriously strong cheese spread this time, but you can use Philadelphia or own brand, salt and pepper, then mush it all up so the cheese is mixed in. Grated cheese on the top. You can add a bit of bacon to it as well, it's really tasty. Watch out because the cheese is quite calorie heavy, but I find it's nice even as a veggie main course, or with just a scoopful on a roast dinner.

OP posts:
wigwaminamustardmill · 30/11/2017 17:23

Bear, that cauliflower cheese has my mouth watering!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 30/11/2017 17:57

It's a firm favourite in our house. You can also use the cauli/cheese mix as a topping for cottage pie type meals, or (as I keep planning to do but always forget) a fish pie or chicken and Ham pie. A thin layer goes to a delicious crispy topping.

OP posts:
TsunamiOfShit · 01/12/2017 09:09

Yup, definitely making myself some of that cauli cheese!

We went out for dinner last night. I had chicken skewers with sweet potato fries. It was lush. We also shared a bottle of red wine. So slightly off plan!

BUT....I had still lost weight this morning! 9 lbs in total now over 11 days Smile

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 01/12/2017 14:12

Tsunami well done! 9lbs is brilliant.
bear hope you feel better soon. Every time I speak to my DSIS, she tells me how awful I sound. And now our boiler is broken. I'm so tempted to go back to bed for the rest of week . . . or the rest of winter Grin

Oblomov17 · 03/12/2017 16:47

Just checking in.
Welcome all newbies.
I haven't really been on plan much recently. But I will weigh myself tomorrow. Blush

APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 03/12/2017 17:57

I'm gradually putting back on everything I lost when ill. Yesterday, I ate what felt like tonnes of food but was actually just under 1400 cals. It's funny how that now feels like too much. I felt stuffed by the end.
I'm on track so far today but haven't decided on dinner yet.

wigwaminamustardmill · 04/12/2017 03:31

Another 2 1/2 lb lost this week. I’ve managed 5 weeks now without cheating!
I had to take my Christmas do dress back to the shop and get a smaller size. The new dress is still a bit tight but I’ve still got nearly 2 weeks until I need to wear it.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/12/2017 17:43

That's great wigwam, well done. It's especially hard with these cold days and long evenings so you should be very proud of yourself.

I'm tentatively back on the BSD path today. Haven't calorie counted but haven't had any sweet food, and have actually eaten meals and vegetables, so a big improvement. I'm not well really, and have resorted to Covonia cough mixture because it's the only thing that helps me shift my chesty cough, although it's got sugar in it. I will have to muddle on as best I can until I feel better.

Here's tonight's tea: a chicken thing from lidl, it's chicken, stuffed with leeks and cheese and wrapped in bacon. With sprouts!

Gosh bear it looks tiny! Or your plate is giant! Grin
I hope your cough mixture helps. I'm still struggling to shift this bug. I have one day where I feel fine and run about catching up on everything then the next day, I'm absolutely exhausted.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/12/2017 20:45

It was pretty stingy place to be honest! There was a bit of oven shrinkage!

I've bought some night nurse for tonight- yes it's sugar, but I'm looking forward to a night of no coughing!

OP posts:
wigwaminamustardmill · 04/12/2017 21:45

Bear and Place, I hope you both feel better soon! Night Nurse always gives me a great night’s sleep but leaves me dopey next day. Coughs really do leave you exhausted, it’s impressive that you can manage the diet food when feeling so bad.
