I read this article the other day (I think I found it through the Jermy Corbyn thread!) www.theguardian.com/books/2015/jul/11/jeanette-winterson-why-i-fasted-11-days and it has piqued my interest.
I am five stone overweight, and however good my intentions I will binge eat whenever I can. I have read many articles online about water fasting now, and it seems that it's actually fairly safe if you are obese. I haven't found any articles about people who have died from fasting as a weightloss measure anyway!
Has anyone done it successfully? I am in the "fortunate" position of not working at the moment so I am able to sit around the house feeling weak for 7-21 days!
Only complication is my thyroid medication. Would I continue to take it, or stop for the duration of the fast?
