How to gently tell my cousin she is too flirty?

Hi everyone. My older cousin who is roughly around 45 and never married can be a bit over the top at times. She is big and beautiful and her choice of clothing is a large multi coloured skirt and a leather handbag. However, she is often making remarks and gestures which seem harmless but come across as weird to other people which includes myself. For example, we were picking up my son from Primary school one time and I was having a chat with his teacher and she perked up and said, “Ooh you’re a lovely handsome young man aren’t you will tickling his chin”. As I said a bit over the top. Any advice on letting her down gently?

Unless she’s wearing no other clothes than a skirt and handbag I don’t see the issue with her outfit.

What has her being single got to do with anything?

Do you mean she physically tickled his chin? The only thing I’d possibly say is not to physically touch people, that’s odd.

The thing is , if cousin was a man who said that and proceeded to tickle a female teacher under her chin, he'd be considered a letch or worse.

It’s weird that she touched the teacher under his chin like he was a child. I’d have maybe said when you walked away- that was a little inappropriate, you shouldn’t touch people like that and then I’d see what she says.

Is it up to you to teach her how to behave? If so, why? Is she not capable of deciding for herself?

What if she told you that you weren't flirty enough? How would you respond/feel?

I think you might have to grow up and recognise that your way isn't 'right', and that other people are allowed to do things their way, without your 'correction'.

Let me get this straight. She came with you to school pick up wearing a skirt but nothing else. She carried a handbag (the audacity!) and proceeded to tickle the teacher under the chin?

i don’t think the teacher is going to view that as flirting so that’s the least of your worries
