@littleroad Are you East District?

Good luck to your DD for SNAGs - exciting times!

littleroad · 13/03/2024 18:04

Yes East District. Thank you @SabrinaThwaite SNAGS is exciting (especially the hoodie…)

Glittertwins · 13/03/2024 18:54

It's all about the hoody!

Ha yes! Gotta get the sweatshirt.

And the t-shirts for Scottish Schools with all the swimmers names on it …

itsgettingweird · 13/03/2024 19:21

Good luck for SNAGS

And yes the hoody is almost (more 🤔) as important as the actual swimming!

Draft programme out for British champs for those going. It's on home page

littleroad · 13/03/2024 19:27

No names T-shirt for Schools this year but a black hoodie instead. Apparently she had ‘needed’ a black hoodie so that was fortunate!!!

itsgettingweird · 13/03/2024 19:44

We seem to have an abundance of navy hoodies - 5!!!

But it's because his club kit is navy and BS kit is navy and he has a navy one from regionals a few years ago.

We always did hoody from 1st comp at that level but he got the white and pink one at British last year despite having a green one form the previous year.

I'm already set to be stung at British champs in April for a hoody 🫣😂 - hopefully they aren't navy 🤣🤣

Glittertwins · 14/03/2024 06:49

The green one from British summer champs in 2022 was a nice colour. We have 2023's too with the cartoon on the back - appealed to my sense of humour!!

OP posts:
itsgettingweird · 14/03/2024 07:33

Yeah we liked the design and bright colours - hence the sting for one 😂
We got the white with pink cartoon!

I assuming British champs will sell them? <starts saving🧐>

Glittertwins · 14/03/2024 08:37

I've seen them before so I'd be surprised if they're not there

OP posts:
Porseb · 14/03/2024 10:56

Yes, they sell them at Champs

Madcats · 14/03/2024 12:36

SW Regional hoodies are unusual colours (but not nearly as vile as County's, which we've skipped) so I think I've persuaded DD to wait until we can see them in the flesh. No chance of a national hoody for us!

Was it one of you lot, years ago, who linked to a college kid who had converted their old hoodies into a patchwork blanket?

Thats what we are going to do with DS's when he stops swimming. Only thing is my DM won't be able to do it by then and she was my go to sewing person. So I either need to learn how to sew or pay someone to do it

Our regionals hoodies have been a really good make - but £sss . Worth it though.

This years are by a different company and assorted colours but online don't look as good quality but are cheaper. We won't get one. Tbh I'm not sure he'll swim that well as he'll only just be back from racing the previous week but it's nice to go away with his club team for the weekend.

Glittertwins · 14/03/2024 20:00

Our counties and regionals are the same supplier. Limited colours now and quite expensive compared to nationals

Good evening!

How's everyone's swimming week been?

Has everyone finished counties now? Hope all were as hoped 🤞

I know we're smack bang in the madness that is "the qualifying window" right now.

But to make you all laugh. Para swimmers received an email at daft o clock this morning informing them they are on either list with a link to homepage.

But yes - you've guessed it. Nothing on BS website and no para list on ranking list to be found 🤦‍♀️ and ds hasn't even swam in the official window so I'm guessing para swimming window must be longer to include BPSIM which is their national para event?

And yes I probably should know this stuff having attended 2 summer meets 🤦‍♀️🤣🤣😉

Hellocatshome · 22/03/2024 20:52

Hi @itsgettingweird they dont make knowing what on earth is going on easy. Imagine those who are in the mix for the first time now very confused after that email.

Just home from the distance events of a little level 3 gala. DS said the pool was very hot and a lot of the swimmers did go a funny shade of red. Hopefully they will cool it down for the rest of the weekend.

Madcats · 22/03/2024 21:44

We're getting spreadsheets of qualifiers by email (not sure about paras).

Glittertwins · 23/03/2024 08:51

We've had 2 emails on the nationals now. I just scroll to the right age group and sort by surname for ease!

Usually we click on the link at top for paras and it scrolls down to bottom where the ranking list can be found.

Week 1 it was there. It said para consideration standards not yet decided (I mean why would you think equality would mean para's getting information at same time as ABs?!)

Week 2 paras ranking been removed. But paras received an email to check the rankings that aren't there 🤦‍♀️😂😂😂

It's so ridiculous as to be funny. But not really fair on those unfortunate enough to be disabled to not be able to access the same information and for it not to be recognised that they are following the same swim season and training as those who are AB.

I do feel for them. They have enough barriers to daily life and training as it is without barriers being created and incorrect information being sent out making it harder. Sad

I'm just assuming ds will qualify for British again and hope for the best!

Hellocatshome · 23/03/2024 10:19

0k so if some people.who are invited to English decide not to enter a particular event, do they then invite the next person down on the list or do they leave empty places? I.e if you are just not on the list is there a chance of going if some people choose not to compete or if when the window ends you are not on the list (even by a tiny amount) thats it you are definitely not going.

itsgettingweird · 23/03/2024 10:34

Usually for English it doesn't backfill.

The entry is right up until the competition usually too.

But as there's been changes this year to format etc I would double check this information because I'd hate to lie to you 🫣😂

Hellocatshome · 23/03/2024 10:48

No backfilling would seem to be a shame really if they have capacity then it seems a shame not to use it. I'm pretty certain it would be DS's only way of getting in but it is what it is. When I'm feeling brave enough I might attempt to interpret all the conditions and see if it mentions it at all.

In other news the pool at this weekends gala has not cooled down. DS said its like swimming in a jacuzzi.

Glittertwins · 23/03/2024 10:59

No backfilling for English. They've extended it to the top 58 instead of top 44 instead

Unfortunately DS is best at distance and I think they have less than 58.
