Sounds like what our coach would say too @Hellocatshome 😆
Well done to him for that!

Ours too!!!

Ds asked for feedback after a 50 free once and got told to breathe less.

I asked in general or just the race 🫣🤣

Massive well done to him hellocats that's a tough barrier to break - hopefully it'll do his confidence some good. How can he question his swimming ability when swimming sun 30 50's? My ds didn't break that barrier until he was 15!!!

I dont know @itsgettingweird I had to send him back in for his medal for the 50 free because he hadn't bothered looking at the results as he just assumed he wouldn't get one 🙈

WarningToTheCurious · 16/07/2023 21:16

DS lost out on a nationals final for taking a second breath in the last 15m. By 0.01 seconds. Gutted.

Oh no! Seems counter intuitive as a parent to tell your child not to breath 🤣

WarningToTheCurious · 16/07/2023 21:35

Because it’s not like breathing prevents death 🤣

🤣🤣🤣

Ds actually needs to breathe more due to his muscle condition but I think when he does it 3 strokes from the wall it's just bad habit 🙄🤣

Glittertwins · 17/07/2023 06:14

I really nag them in training to not breathe in the last 5 as a minimum and finish hard. DS nicked the gold medal by sticking his head down and not breathing in the last 10m or so.

@itsgettingweird - do you have a link for the training session bookings at Sheffield? I can't find it

No - I was asking his coach about it the other day.

But BS entered Ds and I've had to go through them for accreditation too so thought maybe it was just me that couldn't access it.

Clearly not!

When it's a big meet and race ds is much better at head down at the end - especially if there's a medal likely 🙄🤣

We now think that it is come when you want but they will be monitoring capacity

You're going Friday for session as doing LD on Saturday?

We are coming Saturday afaik it's a 3pm training session but I'm sure if that changes after pre event briefing his coach will text him!

Glittertwins · 17/07/2023 21:03

Yep, up on the Friday

Glittertwins · 22/07/2023 07:22

We are leaving in about 20 minutes to head up.

Will have LD in in car and cheering swimmers on.

They are mental wanting to race that far 🤣🤣 x

itsgettingweird · 22/07/2023 07:35

And you'll know me. I'll be the one watching the 400 start with my eyes covered hoping ds muscles don't twitch on the block and he gets DQd before he's even started 🫣🤣

itsgettingweird · 22/07/2023 07:35

Sorry about random kids on the end of the above post. My one on decided to add that for me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙄

itsgettingweird · 22/07/2023 07:36

Better not be, the starter should know the difference between deliberate movement and muscle twitch especially on para - I've been briefed on that before at far lower level meets.
