He wasn't questioned though. But as a para swimmer he certainly wasn't swimming like he had a pair of illegal jet packed jammers on!

Our counties didn't have backstroke ledges in 2022 and that's L2. Totally ludicrous covid excuse.

What on earth can backstroke ledges possibly have to do with covid?

Yes, that's what we all said too!

The Covid excuse is bizarre! About a month ago I watched some new(?) officials struggle with ledges. They probably added an extra 15 minutes to the running times due to their inablilty to lift them out of the pool without twisting the things.

How are your clubs getting on with pool opening hours? Better/GLL is shutting ours earlier in the evenings to save money.

We have a lot at Better/GLL but so far we've not heard. Might find out more tomorrow morning I suppose.

We are at a BH live pool and haven't been told of any earlier closes - yet!

However we swim 5-7am and 5-7pm so I would expect for us Amy effect would be later opening as they only open for us at 5?!

We have a last chance counties meet (LC).

As usual they've realised all counties stuff except for para QTs!

Next weekend for us which is lucky because that gives us this weekend to get the tree up.

Our tree probably won't go up until we break from school!

Next weekend we have a 6 hour round trip for a para swimming camp on Saturday and are watching my nephew in panto on the Sunday!

DS doesn't break up so that would be a bit late for us 🤣

Oh I dont know what happened to my sentence! It was supposed to say doesnt break up until the 23rd.

We’ve got a meet on Saturday, younger one is just getting over a nasty cold though so not sure he’s going to be at his best, and just waiting for eldest to come down with it!

We have Scottish short course nationals next weekend. Staying in Edinburgh for the days near Christmas is costing a fortune. Should be a good one though looking at the draft programme.

Have you looked at the Premier Inn at Dalkeith? Used to be able to get a decent rate and it’s a straight shot up the Dalkeith Rd to the Commie.

Sheffield isn't cheap for hotels this weekend, I dread to think how much Edinburgh will be and with it being another week closer to Christmas

Ah right. I used to try and book early with the cancellable rate, but I guess rates have just gone up so much over the last few years.

Woohooo, no more competitions until late January🥳🥳🥳🥳

Thank goodness phase 1 is almost over and just major meets left!

We have counties, regionals and summers and our Easter international meet and British para international meet and that's it now for the rest of the year!

We are at a meet this weekend. Dd2 swam the county qualifying time for 100 free yesterday. She’s just told me she doesn’t actually want to swim it at the counties. (I may have mentioned before her casual attitude 🤣).

Back for session 4 today, DD1 is just doing 100 fly, she’s a second off the county time and has only ever swum it once (well unless you count 6 races after the backstroke in the arena league 😱). I’m not convinced she’s going to to do it though as she’s been ill on and off since September and hasn’t had her usual sparkle. It’s also a time that’s bizarrely fast I think in comparison to the others. We’ll see. Dd2 is having a go at 50 back (she seems to have suddenly improved —learnt how to swim backstroke— so she should be able to do that one, but you never quite know what she’s going to do). She’s also doing 100IM just to keep her busy (our counties is long course but this qualifier is over in the next county).
