Just booked DD(14)'s audition, her first year. Very nervous for her and there are three months to go.

She has done well as the big fish in a small pond and had really good NODA reports, comments on Lamda exams and in local competitions. Now it is time for her to put herself out there in the big wide world.
We know the odds are against her and we talk about the experience being good.

Big congrats to the DC getting good news from YMT! (Not adding the B on political grounds as I think it excludes N.I. but it's still fab news ).

DD's full offer arrived tonight she has Wanderlust in Huddersfield, it will be devised by the cast and the production team in the run up to performances.

Hello all - sorry, I have been away on hols with my Mum for a bit. Big congrats to the YMT offer holders! DD has an offer but the dates are impossible so she has asked to be put on the transfer list......so still we wait...

@janinlondon that's difficult that the dates don't work hopefully she will get a transfer.
Out of interest what was she offered if you don't mind me asking.

Just popping back in to update. As ever, the wonderful Hannah at YMT (or BritYMT as they now seem to be) solved all our problems and put DD on the transfer list. DD is now placed on Dickens Girls, and is thrilled. And in case anyone in future years is searching, YMT are very accommodating about the transfer list.

I am so pleased she got a transfer. Hope Dickens Girls goes well one of my DD's singing teachers other pupils got that show.

Well done to everyone who got a place! Does anyone know how the reserve list works and when we are likely to hear about places offered from it?

Really pleased DD got a transfer Jan. Hope she has a great time. DS is off to NYMT this morning. Full of cold but very excited. Hope all have an amazing season.

Deadline for transfer acceptances is 15 April Crackalackin. So after that the reserve list may open up?

@lonecatwithkitten how did your DD like Read? Is she looking to audition for one of their courses?

@hilltop78 she loved Read she did their summer school in 2018 and is doing it this year and audition prep course in Feb. She will audition for the MT sixth form, but with only 8 places she will auditioning for Kingsclere and some others too.
Jamie and Helen are lovely both said hello to her when they saw her at Move It.

Hope all the DC who were lucky enough to get an NYMT place this year had a fabulous time this Easter holiday. DS absolutely loved it. We can't wait to watch all the shows now.

I have come back to see how everyone is getting on. First BYMT shows being next weekend and then NYMT shows start the next week.
My DD's show is not till the very end of August so we still have while to wait. However, through the Facebook group she has already made contact with most of the others going and are chatting away. I am not worried about her, but as a single parent it is going to be very strange not having her for two weeks.

Popping back to say that dd and the cast of AG (currently rehearsing in Sevenoaks), went to see Legend Trippers last night. Dd said it was fantastic, were you there Biscuits?

Hi! Can any NYMT regulars give me a steer on when booking is likely to open. The website just says 'booking opens in October'. DD going for it for the first time this year....

@folkmamma booking for auditions is open for 2020 has been for over a week. Go the auditions section of the website choose your preferred venue and pay your money.

@folkmamma apologies BYMT auditions are open, NYMT open shortly.
I can heartily recommend BYMT DD got a distinction in Trinity grade 8 musical theatre in production for the show she was in and thoroughly enjoyed herself.

Already signed up for BYMT auditions @Lonecatwithkitten ! Going to try both in the hope of getting something 🤞🏻

@folkmamma DD enjoyed BYMT audition as there were fewer people ( max. 40). Whereas NYMT had over 100. We also went to the London NYMT audition this year and will go to Bristol in the spring.

NYMT is unlikely to work for DD this year as has GCSEs this year so a week at Easter would not be good. She is also going to audition to join NYT company this year.
