South Westerlies is our first choice and Easterlies our 2nd. SW isn't too far so hoping we get our first choice!! Anyone else hoping for South Westerlies?

Kutik73 · 15/12/2017 10:58

I am hoping to go to London Junior. Smile

TrumpetVoluntary · 15/12/2017 11:52

We have put South Easterlies as our first choice - not sure whether people normally get first choice? Hopefully see you there folkmamma and others. (London Juniors second choice.)

GI76 · 15/12/2017 13:09

Trumpet we are same as you-South Easterlies (really we hope for it as not too far to travel) and London Juniors second choice

Minimusiciansmama · 15/12/2017 15:14

We've put London juniors as our second choice cos it's actually the same time distance away to Northerlies really

Kutik73 · 15/12/2017 15:48

How lovely! I may be able to see miniMini then! Smile

My phone has been broken so I missed all the results drama! DS2 has retained his U12 place. V amusing write up on the unseen sight reading - "a brave effort"!! I think that is tactful speak for a pile up

Have to make a few decisions now as he also made it into the NYChoir and NCChoir and to convince him that Rossall is t that bad - he didn't really like the summer venue. Hey ho - am trying to enjoy the moment before getting into logistics!!

Congrats and commiserations to all as relevant.

stringchild · 15/12/2017 18:37

Hi Michael we too are U12s again; Rossall def not favourite drive! What instrument is ds? We are a Clarinet 😀

No I agree rossall is an awful drive but ds loved staying there why didn't he like it Michael ? This time we're at port Regis again for easter - so I'm looking forward s to another holiday in Dorset and then somewhere in Cumbria but that's ok as we can go and visit grandparents for the week - none of the venues are close to us in sunny suffolk

Michaelahpurple · 16/12/2017 13:05

French horn here. It is odd - I am not utterly sure what the problem was. He felt there were fewer activities and other things to do so he had more time to get homesick. He loved the grounds and adventure playground at port regis and I think found rossall a bit bleak. I think the dorms rather than small rooms worked better for him too.

Trumpetboysmum · 16/12/2017 13:22

I've asked ds he said he loved the course but the food was a bit hit and miss and lots of them thought it was a bit bleak .

Pollymalex104 · 17/12/2017 17:08

Hello - congratulations and commiserations after a nail-biting week or so. Just interested to know re Rossall the length of everyone's journeys/ which counties you're travelling from? My son's take on Rossall was great acoustics in rehearsal hall, a bit like Hogwarts, nice to go on the beach, variable food, very comfortable beds, less outdoor provision...oh and they didn't do the bread rolls he liked so much at Port Regis! (Let's hope they have them at Sedbergh!)He also loved the fact that they travelled to a "proper" concert venue.

Has anyone received anything from nco since sending off the forms and payment? I’m just wondering if they send out any sort of confirmation as I haven’t heard anything.

Kutik73 · 12/01/2018 11:01

Just received now!
