You and the rest of us Herat
I would ask GG but they are refusing to answer questions on any gender related issues.

InflagranteDelicto · 14/04/2018 10:29

Sorry to hear about the security problem still not solved. Are there many alternatives where you are?

The gender bit on the new REN is mind boggling, are we supposed to check what gender each of our girls thinks they are? I can imagine a lot of Confused faces.

InflagranteDelicto · 15/04/2018 22:58

Bollocks. Checking accounts before handing on to audit and ice discovered a cheque from last summer paid in to the post office, but never reached the account. Really not helpfulAngry

drspouse · 16/04/2018 11:02

Inflagrante they are only checking gender for the additional children (children of leaders, mainly) because clearly despite their biological sex ALL Guiding members identify as female (which is why we've been told to manage out girls who ID as male or non-binary).

But I'm hoping they'll say "gender neutral" children can share with girls as then I can say my DS is gender neutral.

drspouse · 16/04/2018 11:02

Inflagrante oh no!

Groovee · 18/04/2018 13:50

Ah bollocks @InflagranteDelicto sure someone else on here had issues too.

Have downloaded the future girl resource. Dd plans to do it. She's chairing the planning meeting while me and Tawny Owl go to the meeting with the venue. They've refused to clarify the timings so I'm not happy and I have PMT. got my div com and the guide leader coming with us. Feel we have to go as safety in numbers as I feel victimised!

Does anyone have a separate mobile phone for their unit? If so what type and what payg provider do you use?

Meeting went ok until the end when the person who caused to complaint was verbally out of order to me. I feel like we have a way forward.

OP posts:
lucysmam · 24/04/2018 16:38

I've considered a separate mobile Groovee as someone took it upon themself to hand my number to someone who text anonymously the other week, and I've had several middle of the night texts/calls. It doesn't seem to make financial sense though, when I have unlimited texts and more minutes than I can use on here, to go buying another one just for 'business' use.

I need help with consent forms - MS Edge will NOT let me edit to put details in Confused. I was sure there was an edit button or similar but can't find one! Any ideas? If not I'll see if there's space on the laptop for Adobe.

Groovee · 24/04/2018 20:56

I've no idea about consent forms. I used the ones that get generated last time.

We have bought a phone from Tesco on PAYG. Out of 22 girls, 7 have text with their numbers!

lucysmam · 24/04/2018 22:31

I have a version of it on my memory stick from a year or so ago that would let me edit it on my old laptop, I'll check whether they're the same and see if that will let me edit it...otherwise I'll get my best handwriting out then photocopy.

Becles · 26/04/2018 07:14

@Lucysmam Have you saved the consent form to your drive, closed it and then reopened in Adobe before trying to fill it in?

lucysmam · 26/04/2018 07:34

My laptop won't give me the option to open with Adobe Confused Even though it says it's on there.

I'll try once more this morning then handwrite and photocopy cos otherwise the laptop's going out the window

lucysmam · 29/04/2018 18:45

I'm back to ask for more help, please, with filling in this "witness testimony" for a funding application. I could have sworn I already did it but the lady who has organised it for me came with this on Tuesday, so clearly not Confused

She's asked dd1 to fill in exactly the same thing too but from a member point of view.

Hopefully the attached pic is readable

Did the future girl resource this week. I liked how it was all laid out and the girls enjoyed it.

OP posts:
InflagranteDelicto · 08/05/2018 20:43

Future girl was interesting, initially the girls found it boring but they loved the sketch bit.

Had a mini Olympics night. Some worked, some didn't. I remembered why I dislike game nights like this! Was hilarious watching a tall leader and a tiny Brownie doing a ballroom style race where a balloon had to stay held between them!

lucysmam · 08/05/2018 21:57

What sections did you do Future Girl with? We have it pencilled in for the first week after half term with the Rainbows and Brownies - AND OTHER LEADERS ARE...TAKING. THE. LEAD!!

Big big thing for us, usually I end up fronting everything and being 'assisted' but I gave them no choice - I can't do it all & could do with the couple of hours at admin & a cupboard inventory before the summer holidays.

Groovee · 09/05/2018 06:01

I did it with Brownies. I found it very straightforward. Delegated something's like who was taking photos... who would look after the paper for this section... who was listening for additional comments.

County comp hikes today... Anyone on here also doing them? Got two teams this year, one competitive, one containing a girl for whom they'll be an enormous physical challenge and some steadier girls to support. Really excited! Stressful getting my Guide ready, she's at the dippy age and they were clueless about team kit!

BringOnTheScience · 21/05/2018 19:13

Aaaarrrrrrrgggghhhhhh!

Grumpy ungrateful parents. AngryAngryAngrySadSadSadSad

That is all.

BringOnTheScience · 21/05/2018 22:59

Thanks! Just needed a brief vent.

Deadline for deposit & forms for summer overnight was 2 weeks ago. Parent who only just realised today, somehow makes this my fault because they ignored all the emails and reminders. Apparently I'm supposed to be psychic.

There was wine tonight!

InflagranteDelicto · 23/05/2018 23:49

I have several of those. Pains, the lot of them.

Groovee · 30/05/2018 21:40

Ah emotional night. Dd got her chief guide award. Then she renewed her promise with the new brownies. 😭

Well done Groovee's DD! CG is a huge achievement!!!
Mine is taking a break from TSS as it was too much alongside the IB, but she's still my YL.
