Well done! That's a fantastic achievement! My Dds are younger, but I hope one day they achieve CG.

Groovee · 01/06/2018 05:37

Thanks ladies. The certificate was dated 6 months ago. We only just managed to locate it.

She's now an adult leader 😍

Fantastic.

A year has passed, and it's the campfire skills night again tonight. I feel very unprepared. Changing it around so my senior sixes will be cooking for the rest.

District trip Saturday. My second adult has to work, she doesn't get much warning with her rotas. Trying to get a parent helper - will it's like getting blood from a stone!

BringOnTheScience · 07/06/2018 23:51

Inflagrante Sometimes you have to get to the point of cancelling before someoe steps up. Fingers crossed that someone does for you.

InflagranteDelicto · 09/06/2018 20:57

We got one, with the caveat of no zip wires!

Today was great. Turned out we were headed for a local NT place.

BringOnTheScience · 10/06/2018 13:20

Excellent news Inflagrante. Glad it all turned out well.

We took the pack to London for the Trooping. 'Exhausted' does not come close to describing it, but they had lots of fun.

Heratnumber7 · 10/06/2018 13:58

Just back from Magic and Mayhem at Foxlease.
Was fab. Can highly recommend.

MillicentMargaretAmanda · 10/06/2018 18:23

I did M&M at Blackland Farm, day only. The Brownies loved it and all very manageable size wise at BF. How did sleeping in the marquee go @heratnumber7 ? It was so sweltering in ours during the day that I didn't envy anyone staying over!

Heratnumber7 · 10/06/2018 18:29

It was fine. The air felt damp this morning, I think from the condensation from 500 sleeping people, and some Guiders have no control over their Brownies when it comes to bed time, but all in all it was a fab day, and we had a reasonable night's sleep.

BringOnTheScience · 10/06/2018 20:28

Ooh Herat We've got this pencilled in for next year. Can't imagine how you got any sleep at all!!!

Heratnumber7 · 10/06/2018 22:31

The kids were shattered. Most of the groups had had an early start on Saturday - we left home at 7.15am - and they were running round in the fresh air all day. It was lights out at 10, and I think pretty much all 500 of us were asleep by 11.

First stirrings were around 6ish - so not much different from a work day for me.

Note: if you do go, take some folding chairs with you, unless you like sitting on the ground.

schooling123 · 11/06/2018 05:26

Anybody here in acro gymnastics and options to move to artistic?

MillicentMargaretAmanda · 11/06/2018 08:24

I did take folding chairs and was very glad :-D

Cora1942 · 11/06/2018 08:37

Thanks for posting re Magic & M.
Hoping to do next year (if they do it).
Do the adults sleep with the girls ? I couldn’t work that out when I read the info this year.
Did you have any snoring adults?
And what about Toilets were they near the tent?

Heratnumber7 · 11/06/2018 18:27

Adults and girls all slept together. We were given our own area on the floor of the big tent.
Honestly, I was so tired, I went out like a light too. I wouldn't have noticed if anyone had been snoring I probably was though.

Toilets were clean and stuff. Some proper toilets and lots of portaloos. Not that close to the tent tbh. I made sure not to drink after about 8pm, just in case! Grin

drspouse · 12/06/2018 19:32

Oops I've told ONE parent that we are reopening Brownies and I seem to be full.
Depends if all the girls that were on the list when we closed, actually come back again.

Groovee · 12/06/2018 19:38

That's good Drspouse x

Cora1942 · 12/06/2018 21:25

Thank you

InflagranteDelicto · 12/06/2018 23:29

Oops! That's promising thoughSmile

drspouse · 13/06/2018 11:57

Yes indeed.
I have now asked a connection of mine if she could mention it and explain really carefully to parents at a refugee group as I know if I publicise widely I'll just get the usual suspects and I'd really like it to be open to girls who would benefit more e.g. new to the country, but whose parents might not actually know what Guiding is.

drspouse · 13/06/2018 11:57

(Had two parents say they didn't think so as they can't make the new time, so I have a couple of spaces!)

Becles · 28/06/2018 07:03

Dear parent

Wind yiur nexk in we are not 'staff'. Otherwise we wouldn't have chased you for 2 and a half months for overdue subs. Wise owl would have brought a grievance against you by now too.

drspouse · 28/06/2018 09:34

Good grief!

Groovee · 28/06/2018 18:34

Oh dear Becles. Hope you are ok x

OP posts:
InflagranteDelicto · 02/07/2018 08:06

Wow, everything OK?

Life has become rather interesting here, and I've going from being an additional adult to make up ratios to 1/3 of a team organising a guide camp in less than 3 weeks. Can't let my hard work go to waste--think my Brownies will have to go camping for my licence next!
