Groovee that sounds really poor. You need to escalate to your DC and RA and ask what they are doing to support you. What's the point of submitting in advance otherwise?

What exactly are the problems?

REN: do all the leaders have a dbs and does the first aider have her training up to date?

Risk assessment: I'm queen of RA, so happy to help

SparklyUnicornPoo · 28/02/2017 19:55

Well tonight was hard work. I don't know what has got into them all tonight but in 20 years helping i have never had such rude, naughty Rainbows! They've been playing up for a couple of weeks but this was a whole new level. I think we shall be spending some time next week on sitting down and listening and promise work, with a lot of emphasis on being kind and helpful! and how the words 'but my mummy lets me' are likely to get you sent home so mummy can deal with your attitude

In the mean time Wine and a quiet room are in order.

lucysmam · 02/03/2017 22:34

Our Brownies sent home flat Brownies on Tuesday to see what adventures they could get up to...

Trust dd2 to post hers into the drawer over the cupboard with no back on it Grin guess what I'll be hunting down the back of the cupboard for tomorrow then

In other news, admin is much easier with a laptop that actually works! Just need a printer now.

MillicentMargaretAmanda · 02/03/2017 22:48

Is anyone here Anglia and a Brownie leader? If so are you doing Starburst? I'm tempted but we're the other side of Anglia so it will be a 3-4 hour drive each way without traffic and that just seems... well... totally beyond the realms of sensible thought for a weekend away. If you're going, how far away are you?

InflagranteDelicto · 02/03/2017 22:56

Millicent, I looked at it and decided it was too far. I'm in bucks. Looked fun, but just too far.

Loving the flat brownie! Going to steal that idea!!!!

RueDeWakening · 02/03/2017 22:59

lucysmam are you doing the Flat Brownie challenge badge? I did the Flat Rainbow one a year or so ago, they loved making them. We posted them off to other units round the country though, and were sent theirs in return.

So, I've just agreed that DD will move up to Guides at May half term she's already got her name down for Guide Camp in July Grin there'll be no stopping her! Can't believe the toddler I took on a Rainbows unit for is getting so big!

Groovee · 02/03/2017 23:29

My REN is finalised and we can go on Saturday 🎉🎉🎉

InflagranteDelicto · 02/03/2017 23:37

Hooray! What did it need?

Groovee · 03/03/2017 06:18

Just some clarification which didn't come through x

OP posts:
MillicentMargaretAmanda · 03/03/2017 06:31

Inflagrante - ditto :-D
Shame as I know mine would love it but they'd need to leave school early or be really late arriving and at that time in Jan it could be 12 degrees or heavy snow. And I really don't fancy the latter with a bunch of kids!

InflagranteDelicto · 03/03/2017 06:44

What they don't know about 😉 there's another unit nearby that are going, I was chatting to one of their leaders after a thinking day service. But for me, like you say the logistics, getting there at a reasonable time, and not knowing what the weather will do. It's just that bit too far.

It's odd when they move up. I've only had three move up so far, dd1 being one of them. They leave quite a hole! Dd2 has just turned 9, so another year and a bit...

Groovee · 05/03/2017 00:03

My brownies are all asleep. Just me and my Dd who are still awake haha. Glasgow Science Centre is a cool sleepover.

Impressive! I hope you also got a lie in ;-)

Groovee · 05/03/2017 14:11

Had to wake a few of them at 6am lol. Got wakened at 3.45am to look for a lost teddy. But as she had a few, I talked her into looking in the morning 😂

Glad to hear that Groovee!

Last night we started our Space GFI - tried to make ice cream comets using a freezer bag of milk & sugar inside another larger back of ice & salt. It didn't work at all, after about half an hour of shaking they just have v cold milk! Grin

Apparently there were a few 'lumps' when they poured it out but that was all. Oh well, that's what experiments are for!

Twistmeandturnme · 08/03/2017 16:04

Off on Brownie holiday at the end of the month.
Still chasing deposits, let alone balances, and think I've overspent. Grrr. Can I get away with feeding them gruel for 3 days? Hmmmm

drspouse · 08/03/2017 16:24

Yeah, Oliver Twist themed PH!

I'm wondering if I can tell the person I wrote the camp cheque to that she can't cash it till early April when the next lot of subs come in, as I also have to write the Census cheque...

Groovee · 08/03/2017 16:47

We're doing the second part of disability awareness tonight. Had to work and feel poorly! This should be fun x

Becles · 09/03/2017 07:10

Help! I've just been asked to provide cover for a brownie unit tomorrow because the leader's not well. Any last minute ideas that have little prep?

Groovee · 09/03/2017 07:11

Our girls like nights where we play games. Just any out of the ones we play.

Consequences if you get pen and paper can be good.

Some games that just require mostly just a pen/paper:

Back to back drawing - they pair up and one has to describe what they're drawing and the other copy, and see if they end up with the same picture

Pictionary - I write a load of clues of random objects, films, etc, and put them in a cup and use a chair and bulldog clip for a makeshift easel!

Who am I? - I write a lot of famous people / characters on scraps of paper or post it's and the girls hold it to their head and have to ask each other Qs until they guess who they are.

Kim's game - take any junk from the cupboard!
