actually its something i would like to do with dd when shes older. dh has her lined up for golf so this will be hers and my thing.

Sounds like the kids starting to play/ the prospect of playing as a family is quite a trigger then for many.

Andy Murray is too grumpy and unlikeable to have inspired everyone perhaps!!?

Incidentally, do try and get proper lessons as it makes such a difference if you get your technique right from the start. Easier than having to correct bad habits. Lessons needn't cost a lot if you gang up with a couple of others to make your own group or join group lessons.

It seems education is really focussing on tennis as well.
Ds2 is the tennis player in our house, but DS1 is very sporty generally and has had a couple of lessons now.
The school have asked DS1 to go to a tennis camp tomorrow for 3 hours. I don't know why really but I assume they are looking for potential players.

I have just learned to do a cartwheel for the first time in my life at 41 ( and 13.5 stone)
Find this thread a bit scary as I still think of myself as young !
