@samthebordercollie I’ve lost nearly 4kg. Some of that may be due to the Epsom salts I had to ingest the day before the op, but a lot is clearly muscle. I look more wizened now, on my legs in particular. Skinny is not a great look when you’re 60! I’m going to attempt an upper body session today with 3kg weights, avoiding anything that touches the core. At least my arms can remain toned.

whatwoulddexterdo · 16/07/2026 16:48

The latest knowledge article is the usual mix of unfathomable psychobabble which adds nothing and is completely useless
I really don’t know why Our Queen aligns herself to this rubbish

BigButtons · 16/07/2026 20:20

I never read them- ever
today for me was a leg day from CGX iron- despite very poor sleep due to heat and then the heat the devil took me.
lunges with 2x20kg and squats with 15kg. I nearly fell over 🤣

Better than me, my legs would snap!lunges with 2 10kgs is my limit.😂

we live really close to the wildfires - the heat and the continual smoke is really getting to me. I haven't had a good night sleep in a while and I've had to cancel some work (one of my jobs is outside) as I can't cope with the headaches from being out in it. I'm so annoyed by these wildfires, we need better protection for the moors. So to conclude, I've done bugger all. I'm also trying to fit in packing around everything as we're moving all our stuff into storage over the next couple of weeks. In the midst of all this, my boyfriend decided to to an unnecessary oil change on our car and broke some parts, so we are without wheels until he fixes it. I had to take the dogs on a long walk when he told me!

The newsletter was very brief.

How is everyone getting on? @Fibrous ? Are you moved?
well I appear to have been banned from the fb group. I have no idea why. I haven’t checked in there for ages - went to have a look today and cannot find the group? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Fibrous · 10/08/2026 16:47

Hi @BigButtons yes, we’ve moved out! Currently living at my FILs. We moved last week, it was hell. Took so much longer to pack up all our crap and put it in storage than we thought, and I’m still covered in bruises from it all. But we survived, and all the pets are settling in much better than expected. Although the bloody cats are keeping me awake all night outside asserting their new territory with the neighbourhood cats. And one of my dogs is public enemy number one as he won’t stop barking at the parakeets. We don’t have them where we usually live rurally but they seem rife in suburbia!

I’m in a much better mood now, the worst is over. We are making some slow progress with the purchase so hoping we will be in within a month.

my weights are all in storage but I have some running gear so was thinking I will start doing some of that. I am going to be in terrible shape by the time Fuel starts so I’m going to give that a go, I think. I haven’t been on Facebook for ages, maybe we’ve been cyber tracked from here and banned!

Hi, if you can’t find the group on a search, it just doesn’t appear then yes you’ve been banned, welcome to the club 😂
I had no warning the group just disappeared.
glad you’re in a better place Fibrous!
im plodding on with the same old programme sessions I love, still not sure Fuel will be for me. Today’s newsletter was even briefer than the previous one and I notice that the featured before and after if one of the prolific FB group narcissists so i definitely won’t be reading that. Or any boring psychology articles which have no relevance to weight training list of the time.

whatwoulddexterdo · 11/08/2026 07:18

Hi all!
@Fibrous so glad you have moved, I hope you will be very happy in your new home
I have gone back to Epic 1 - it’s really good and there’s so
many moves she doesn’t do anymore. I am really enjoying it . It’s so refreshing and I think CG looks so much better than she does now
I am still on the FB group and although I don’t really go on it the couple who shall
not be named are taking a break so it’s good to see that other people are getting their posts posted. And we are not subjected to the constant posts from the couple who want to dominate and make everything about them

Yes the newsletter built by you featured one of the prolific posters who uses the comments section on the app as her personal diary! What’s really funny is that the other prolific posters all ignore each others posts .

BigButtons · 11/08/2026 09:05

@Fibrous that is great news! I do hope to manage to recover from such a horrible ordeal and that the purchase goes through at some point!
@samthebordercollie I did wonder whether the ban was linked to our posts or even perhaps Reddit. I don’t know whether the admin team on fb have access to use names?
nithing useful is ever posted on that group- it is just an advertising page for her business. Yes I saw the newest ‘ let’s pick a prolific poster and let them have an even bigger platform’ article
those who shall not be named are probably out shopping for matching temu outfits ready for fuel- or maybe getting more cameras for their gym.
i am going to investigate Jasper MacDermot this week- Reddit has very good reviews on him. I need a switch up from the crazy CG volume.
feels odd though. I shall stick with the weights I have been used to and see how I go from there.
@whatwoulddexterdo I agree she looked so much better in the epics. She obviously has a lot of work done to her face which is a real shame- not because she looks awful or anything but because the focus should be about lifting and moving not having barbie doll looks.

OP posts:
BigButtons · 11/08/2026 09:08

What I wish is that cg would do a proper strength series- I get that iron pro was supposed to be but it wasn’t really/ I understood the minute rest when really pushing weights but not when she was using 15/17.5 kg🤷🏻‍♀️

@BigButtons I wondered if the ban was to do with the threatened action here on Mumsnet, do you think the mods here had to give personal info to Silly Boi when he threatened legal action? It's very strange
I don't think it would be Reddit as that seems to be very anonymous:
My ban was definitely down to calling out the post of one of the prolific posters as inappropriate, I will check out Jasper, I think I've done one of his workouts before it isn't the first time he's been recommended

Could well be- still I not missing out on anything.
did the first day of hero 2 today ( Jasper) felt very odd not to be doing the volume that she does - but I was able to go heavier for chest press as he presses at a different angle which I find much more comfortable on the shoulders . Keep thinking I need to do more- but I don’t . I am bored at home-it is too hot to go out and I have a dodgy heel which makes me walking tricky.

I can still access the facebook group so my internet trail is currently untracked. I rarely go on facebook, though.

Yes thanks everyone, very relieved to have the move out done at least, I was getting very aggro there, sorry. I have also booked an apt with my GP for HRT as I think it all tipped me over the edge, and it's time to give it a crack.

Her newsletter was very short this month. Considering how word salady her stuff used to be, it's quite the change.

I never read those transformation things - those and the insidious use of cosmetic enhancements are just the worst parts of the industry, to me. I wish people just focussed on actual health.

Anjelika · 11/08/2026 19:34

I saw the Reddit thread recommending Jasper and thought I might try a week of one of his programmes. I think it’s one upper, one lower and one full body. I’m just coming to the end of Iron Pro for the second time so ready for a change.

I saw who was featured on the App but haven’t read it. Feel like I know enough about that person already from their constant oversharing!

@Fibrous I have found HRT great on the whole. I hope it makes a real difference for you 🙂
I have chosen hero 2 for my Jasper trial- 2 upper and 2 lower a week. It was refreshing change- just having 40/20 split. Meant I could increase my weight and really focus . I even managed 2sets of 10kg for bicep curls . Caroline’s endlessly long sets do really affect how heavy you can lift.clearly 5 years of working her sets has paid off though.

Anjelika · 13/08/2026 15:27

@BigButtonshow are you finding Jasper? I have spent a few hours looking at other trainers but think what he offers in Hero 2 would suit me best plus the workouts look to be around 35 mins including warm up
and cool down. I will give Day 1 a go on Sunday. He seems like a nice chap.

I am really liking him- down to earth- have done two upper and one lower so far- the last two sessions had a 10 minute AMRAP- which terrified me intially but it was fine/ The wasilns are going by quickly and I feel like I am working hard/
I have managed to pull a glute muscle from my last Carole leg day so will have to stick with quad based work for the lower body for a bit.
i also tried a session from his cyberpunk series and really liked that two.
it has been a learning curve with the weights though. Now have a variety out and try one weight for the first set and gauge how that feels- will go up or down accordingly, especially if the move is a bit different. Today were prone supine row holds and also elbow rows for example. It is great to finally have some variety after Caroline’s very limited app moves and ridiculous set lengths..

Anjelika · 13/08/2026 19:32

@BigButtonsthat all sounds very positive. I take it he doesn’t have an obsession with rear delts then! I can’t do any cardio at the minute other than walking so need something that is pure strength. I’ll make notes on the weights I use each time and maybe repeat week one before moving on if it takes time to get it right.

Has anyone watched AlexandriaGetsFit on YouTube? In one video she compares the various trainers out there - CG, Heather, Lift with Cee etc and in another compares CG’s 3 Iron programmes. Worth a look.

BigButtons · 13/08/2026 20:33

@Anjelika the amrap isn’t cardio per se- he does three moves and say x number set- gives a choice- like today was walk to push up and back,5-8 reps, seated lateral raises 10-15 reps and seated hammer curls 10-15 reps ,but your heart rate gets high just because it last for 10 minutes. He doesn’t go at it like a bull at a gate- he takes rests. He absolutely encourages you do go at your own pace and perform good reps.🙂

OP posts:
BigButtons · 13/08/2026 20:34

@Anjelika he did some rear delt once- fair enough but I actually find it quite anterior delt tough- maybe because I have been able to up my weights for some moves?

I think I’m going to try Hero Legend, I like longer workouts. The only thing which worries me is knowing which weights to get out the night before as the exercises aren’t listed as they are in Hero II or with CG

Yes that puts me off- I also have issues with it being filmed on a balcony for some reason🤔
