30 Day Shred for September anyone?

EnchantedEvidence · 29/08/2025 07:25

I have purchased the 30 Day Shred on Amazon Prime and plan on doing it everyday in September. I’ve never done it before but need to do some exercise (I do none at the moment). I’ve lost some weight but still so unfit.

Would anyone like to join me? I need some accountability!

I do mine at night so 2 days down so far...
My legs are a bit stiff today but nothing unbareable. Im struggling with the side bend/knee bend configuration, it confused me which isnt surprising as my co ordination is atrocious

Its a run day today too for me so we will see how I get on tonight. 5 mile run planned, currently preparing for a 10k next month.

Well done ladies, after today we'll have done one 10th of the plan 👏

Boo2U2 · 03/09/2025 09:54

I've just done my first one, phew! I don't think I've sweated so much in my life 😂

@SFRSmum my coordination is rubbish too, and I found the knee/side/bum bit slightly confusing, I couldn't work out if I was doing it right or not.

I also don't know how to "tighten my abs" during the exercise when she mentions that... Hopefully it will come once I start to get a bit less unfit!

When i do pilates, the teacher says to pull your belly button into your spine. I always find it a good explanation on how to engage the core!

Mokeytree · 03/09/2025 11:50

Explanation I heard recently which I found quite helpful was to cough and then you can feel your core tighten, which is what you are looking for.
No shred for me today as did a run instead.

Thanks @SFRSmum - so kind of sucking your tummy in?

I've just had a try, I feel like I'm squeezing to go to the toilet (sorry to be so crude 😂😂)

Ha ha.
Do you also feel it between your ribs and belly button.

SFRSmum · 03/09/2025 17:09

@Boo2U2 yes, imagine pulling a string from your belly button that sucks it in towards your spine.

I got the app as I wanted the low impact shred and couldn’t find it anywhere else. It’s a bit more modern which I like and you don’t have the advance person and modified one. I did day two yesterday as I was at ballet yesterday (I’m not doing jumps at ballet at the moment so taking it easier in class due to my leg, ballet sounds easy but my heart rate goes up, get sweaty etc)

SFRSmum · 03/09/2025 22:59

Day 3 done ✔️
I found it much easier today, despite a 5 mile run earlier, although my legs are aching.

Ive purchased the app too, its full of all sorts of different exercises and health and fitness guides
Ive told myself if I manage the 30 days up to level 3, ill treat myself to the annual subscription!

NewNameNewMeNow · 04/09/2025 07:45

I’m going to start this on Saturday - for about the 10th time. 🙄 I need to wait till the weekend because I’m always too stiff to climb stairs properly afterwards the first couple of days 😁

SFRSmum · 04/09/2025 22:29

How are we all getting on?

Day 4 done, impressed I can do 10 press ups in 1 go now, on day 1 only managed 3.

Hope everyone is managing ok.

0psiedasiy · 05/09/2025 19:55

Just did day 4. So far so good. Was a bit achey after day 1 but in a good way.

0psiedasiy · 05/09/2025 19:56

Have you taken pictures to compare progress to?

SFRSmum · 05/09/2025 23:38

Day 5 done ✔️ dont feel I did as well today but I ran 8.5km earlier this afternoon so was a bit tired from that

I haven't taken any photos, im useless at taking photos tbh, im definitely feeling stronger though. I was using 2kg weights tonight as my toddler has hidden my 1kg ones. And I coped, just!

SFRSmum · 07/09/2025 20:09

Day 6 done ✔️

I missed a day yesterday, I pulled something in my neck, I presume using weights that were too heavy for me (im an absolute weakling when it comes to weights) so I took yesterday off as not to make things any worse.

I gave things another go tonight, but didn't use any weights at all. I managed but I think i will avoid weights for another few days yet.

Hope everyone is getting on ok.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 08/09/2025 06:27

I’m really struggling getting up and fitting this into my day. 5am used to be my favourite time to work out but apparently not anymore! 😭

SFRSmum · 08/09/2025 11:45

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa I do mine at night time, it works for me as I can always fit in 30 mins before bed. It does mean sometimes im up later than Id like but there isnt an excuse for me to not do it like school run or work ect.

0psiedasiy · 11/09/2025 20:09

I’m still doing it though not as often as planned, I started on the first and am on day 8.

Biscuit12 · 23/09/2025 11:06

How are you all getting on with this? I am planning to start it on 1st October!

Boo2U2 · 23/09/2025 16:22

I have so far kept up with the 4x per week, and it's definitely getting easier! I don't know if it's psychological but I feel stronger and my endurance seems better. Although I've done it about 14 times now, I'm still on stage one as I want to be really confident that I'm doing the moves correctly before progressing. I'm planning to move on to stage 2 next week.

I'm also doing Slimming World and have so far lost 3lbs since the beginning of the month... Had definitely hoped for more, but I'm trying to focus on being healthy and fit rather than just obsessing over the scales this time. I do feel better which is more important really. As long as the trend is downward, I'm happy.

How is everyone else getting on?
