30 Day Shred for September anyone?

EnchantedEvidence · 29/08/2025 07:25

I have purchased the 30 Day Shred on Amazon Prime and plan on doing it everyday in September. I’ve never done it before but need to do some exercise (I do none at the moment). I’ve lost some weight but still so unfit.

Would anyone like to join me? I need some accountability!

Me!! This is exactly my plan! I’ve downloaded a tracker so I can tick off each day as well. ❤️

EnchantedEvidence · 29/08/2025 19:43

Amazing! Where did you get your tracker? I should have printed one at work!

Have you done it before? This’ll be my first time 😬

I've bought it too and plan to start when my kids go back to school on Wednesday! Unfortunately my life is rather hectic so I will be doing it 4x per week - Mon, Weds, Fri and either Saturday or Sunday. That should see me complete it by October half term.

I've never done any kind of proper exercise in my life! I lost 2 stone about 4 years ago, but it's slowly crept back on and I'd love to get it off again. The thing is, even when I was down to 9st I felt flabby, I've never felt slim. This time I want to go back to healthy eating but with a focus on exercise too. I'm very nervous!

EnchantedEvidence · 29/08/2025 22:24

@Boo2U2 Welcome! October half term is a good goal for 4 days a week. I’m going to see how I do aiming for everyday and if that’s unrealistic maybe I’ll drop down a bit. I don’t want to give up though!

Before Covid I used to do lots of exercise running but haven’t really done anything since that. And in that 5 years I’ve put on about 3 stone and now lost that. But similar because my body still looks flabby at 9 stone now. Although I have had a baby so obviously lots of changes.

Do you have weights and how heavy? I don’t have any so planning to start with some tins but might progress to proper weights.

So I just googled, apparently it’s a dvd consisting of 30 x 20 minute exercises? I own the dvd already, obviously it’s unopened 😁.

Is there anything else to it? I’m not going to do well on the calorie counting if that’s included as I make most of my stuff from scratch, and cant work out the calories. But I’m happy to eat a bit less.

I just downloaded it off Pinterest. I can add it here if people like?

I’ve attempted it before - years ago at the height of The Biggest Loser. I never got further than Level 1 with it.

I do have weights, but my smallest ones are heavier than they are seen using in the video so I’ll just have to see how I get on. Tins sounds like a good place to start if you can hold them properly to do the exercises?

There’s no particular diet recommended with it.

As an aside - have you tried using Nutracheck? You can recipe build from scratch in that so you could calorie count if you wanted to. There’s a very good free version (although the full version is cheap in comparison to others too)

REDB99 · 30/08/2025 07:57

I’ll join and hopefully the accountability will stop me from stopping! I like the 30 day shred as it really does make a difference.

Gassylady · 30/08/2025 07:57

Nutracheck does allow for easy calorie tracking of homecooked stuff but you do need to measure rather that use a Jamie Oliver style glug of oil obviously. I am strugglong a bit with gym mojo so might look into this shred as currently still have prime

Boo2U2 · 30/08/2025 09:40

I've bought some 1kg weights. How heavy are yours @WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa ?

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 30/08/2025 09:41

@Boo2U2my lightest are 2kg.

SFRSmum · 31/08/2025 17:46

I'll join too :)

0psiedasiy · 01/09/2025 17:53

I’m doing the low impact shred on her app (currently resting a hurt leg from running my first parkrun after doing c5k). Just did the first workout and it was hard!

Is the app worth getting? Are you on monthly or annual membership?

Ive tried to purchase it on amazon prime but its not letting me complete the transaction. When I search on the Web page it doesn't come up as available.

Id happily pay the 20 for the month but wondering if the annual plan might be better value if there are things on there ill actually use

FLOWER19833 · 01/09/2025 20:12

Ok i will try to start from tomorrow too, may skip the days i am at the gym though, but will try to do it the remaining 4/5 days

SFRSmum · 01/09/2025 22:03

Day 1 done ✔️
Very impressed with myself, I was a sweaty mess at the end but I got through it all without stopping 👏 👏 👏

EnchantedEvidence · 01/09/2025 22:18

Woo! 🤩😅💪How was everyone’s first day? I did it first thing with my tins and pretty pleased. I’m already starting to feel a bit stiff so don’t know how it’ll go tomorrow.

I’d be interested to know more about what the app is like. The only reason I didn’t get that was I’m also trying to save money on subscriptions.

I use nutracheck to log my calories and it has 30 day shred (and Jillian’s other DVDs) under exercise.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 02/09/2025 06:58

I’ve done day 1 and 2, getting up and doing it first thing as I know I won’t otherwise.

I use nutracheck and didn’t know the DVDs were on there - that’s brilliant. I love nutracheck, been using it for years now - so much better than MFP.

I just looked and calorie burn wise it’s identical to tracking the workout as a HIIT in my Apple Watch so that’s good, feels accurate now. 😂

Mokeytree · 02/09/2025 13:04

The thread has inspired me to give this a go. Although won't be doing it everyday as I do other exercise which I don't wany suffering too much by the shred tiring me out.
Only saw this this morning so didn't do it yesterday though did a 30 minute jog with 7 one minute intervals of trying to go a bit faster.
Today I've completed Level 1, Day 1. Which left me a complete sweaty mess. Then some heavier lifting and a short floor core work out. I'm back at work tomorrow so won't normally do so much but am really feeling the endorphins now.

EnchantedEvidence · 03/09/2025 08:38

Just finished day 3 🎉 and printed a tracker yesterday at work. If I get to Level 2 I might even invest in some dumbbells..

Hows everyone else finding it?
