... and would you be prepared to share how much your membership is costing you?

I'm an off-peak member (not tennis) and my membership has increased almost 50% over the last 2 years, and they're now telling me that there's only one type of membership - Diamond.

I'm not entirely sure that I believe them, given that they never publish rates online.

So if anyone is prepared to share theirs with me, please would you send me a PM?

Yes, £200 or more, I have a sneaky feeling they make up different prices all the time. We had also been told there is only a Platinum membership.

@Wimbledonmum1985, interested if you could share the better options

Of course they make up different prices all the time. If they didn’t they would be able to publish the prices no problem. I just don’t know what other reason they could possibly have for all the secrecy.

There used to be normal non rackets membership and then rackets/platinum membership. And off peak versions of both.

Then diamond membership became a thing which you needed to get into upgraded spas. Initially they told pre existing members that they would be able to access the spas even with ordinary membership but I’ve heard tales of clubs going back on that. So people are spending £120 for example and have always been able to use a jacuzzi and sauna and now those facilities are out of bounds unless they pay another £60 a month.

and now apparently there’s diamond plus membership.

I joined before there were tiers and was told I could use any DL in the country or abroad. Then they introduced tiers and new members could only enter a same level or lower tier but older members were told their full access rights were still there. Then I found out I couldn’t get in the spa of a club near me because I’m not diamond even though I used to be able to get in the sauna there. I can’t be a diamond member, my club doesn’t have it as we don’t have a spa. Now apparently some clubs are “super tier” level and people from other clubs inc pre tier members can’t get in them.

they change the rules as they want.

To.save costs we cancelled dh's membership. But then they started whacking up my individual and the kids fees. Hence why it was so huge overall. It was years ago but started at something like £170 for all of us ans 3 years later we were paying £280 for 3 of us or something (not Raynes park).
