Hi
im trying to get back into exercise. I found someone who did 10 minute workout routines, it’s a lot of stretching though and I feel like I need something more.

i don’t have lots of space though as I do it in the bedroom, but I’d like short workouts with lots of variety and some weights as well.

thanks

There are loads to choose from
I like madfit , lots of variety and she explains the correct techniques as well

fitbymik and eleni fit are two others I use quite a lot

Following for the suggestions

FaintlyMacabre · 15/07/2024 14:03

Not YouTube but I’ve been using the FitOn app which is mostly free and has every type of workout you could imagine. It works on some TVs as well. I’ve found it easier than YouTube as you can track what you’ve done and set yourself targets etc.

I do a lot of boxing and when I can't get to the boxing gym or have to use my own heavy bag I follow Nate Bowers on YouTube. He has his own website that you can subscribe to but has a number of excellent sessions free on YouTube.

He's a Canadian boxer and does a lot of hiit style workouts and strength/conditioning. You don't need a heavy bag and his has some excellent shadow boxing workouts.

But like everything, you have to find something you enjoy and can stick with! I don't do yoga on YouTube because I find a lot of them dull, so use my downdog app.

I follow Holly Dolke on YT, she has short effective workouts..

For dance type stuff - The Fitness Marshall, Liveloveparty, Zumba,

For strength - Redefining strength, Lean beef patty, Jeff Nippard, Renaissance periodization

For mobility work - Tom Morrison

There is some fantastic stuff out there

PatienceOfEngels · 15/07/2024 14:16

Jessica Smith has some good workouts which use no/little equipment and little space. I can do or in my tiny kitchen.

Gumps · 15/07/2024 14:25

Caroline Girvan is brilliant. So many different workouts to choose from and she doesn't talk all the way through which I love.

ScrummyDiva2 · 15/07/2024 14:37

Caroline Girvan and Lifting with Cee

eurochick · 15/07/2024 14:41

Another vote for Caroline Girvan.

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 15/07/2024 14:49

Walk at Home subscription. Some older free stuff on YT. Rarely weights but often resistance bands.

KvotheTheBloodless · 15/07/2024 14:51

Running on plants are really good if you're looking for something challenging that specifically supports running muscles.

TruthThatsHardAsSteel · 15/07/2024 15:03

Emkfit

She's brilliant and gives adjustable options for each movement. Her 20min workouts are so good. She's recently introduced standing pilates workouts as well. I'm not into influencers, Instagram, or any of that crap - she's just a normal person, bit of a goofball so entertaining to watch too

BogRollBOGOF · 15/07/2024 16:06

Get Fit With Rick is good for low impact aerobic workouts

Droolylabradors · 15/07/2024 16:22

Bodyfit by Amy. I love her, have bee doing her workouts for 5 yrs.

ItsBinDayToday · 15/07/2024 18:22

Brilliant - I’ll try and have a look tomorrow and see who gets my interest. Thank you all

Quite like Toya and Juice, hope this helps.

I find the amount of choice rather overwhelming! For which reason I think I want some sort of structured programs rather than trying to figure out what mix I should do. In the past I was quite a fan of the Jillian Michaels DVDs but I find the music quite annoying nowadays. I tried Caroline Girvan but she's a bit much for me, the music is incredibly irritating and she doesn't explain things verbally (on the free ones I've tried). Talk and no bloody beat is what I want! Grin
Anyway, I had a look at FitnessBlender this morning, hundreds of individual videos but only a couple of free programs - I tried the first day of the two week one and that may fit the bill for me to start with.

ItsBinDayToday · 16/07/2024 11:30

When I used to Jillian I knew the routines so well I turned the sound off and put music on my phone. I couldn’t stand her talking about jeans/bikini shopping over and over.

Heather Robertson is fantastic. You can filter her workouts by type or time length, she also has several 12 week programs and also a monthly calendar although some of the workouts on it are really long.
i quite like Fitbymik too as there are no repeats

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 16/07/2024 11:49

I like 'growingananas' I do her HIIT classes. There isn't loads of talking and 'over the topness' . They're straightforward but effective. And lots of different levels you can try. I also like fitness blender. Both have videos with and without equipment and of all different lengths.

If you want to try yoga I like TwoBirds. For Pilates I like Move with Nicole.

Offforatwix · 20/07/2024 19:15

Is there anything like a slow version of Caroline girvins? I have a spine issue, I can't do squats and jumps and burpees but want to get fit with weights.

Try bodyfit by amy. She has all levels and always gives adjustments depending on your level. Eg. I can't do jumping Jack's, she gives an adjusted version where you aren't jumping.

Pamela Reif & Daisy Keech I alternate between. My body has been completely transformed.

Kalettesarethebest · 03/08/2024 07:47

Lucy Wyndham Read. I started doing her workout for menopause and was thinking 'why has this woman got a menopause exercise workout when she's clearly in her 20s/30s?' It turns out she's 55 and looks amazing. She's very down to earth, has doable exercise and has cats, what's not to love?!
