Fitness trackers for a small wrist?

Can anyone advise?

I'd really like to get a new fitness tracker (Fitbit or similar) but I have an issue with having relatively small wrists. They're not super teeny tiny (about 6" around) but for years I've had issues with watches being uncomfortable. I have lost count of the amount of watches I've rejected over the years because they are just too big and uncomfortable. These days if I wear a watch it's a Timex kids one with a stretchy strap.

I used to have a Fitbit that clipped to my bra or trousers, but I'd really like a new one that measures heart rate, and those all seem to be worn on the wrist.

Can anyone recommend? I've been looking at the Fitbit Inspire 3 - but it still looks like the length of the actual device will take up the whole width of my wrist, so I'm not convinced it will fit well or be comfortable.

I almost purchased a Google watch a few months ago, until I saw the size of it.

I guess they all have to be big due to the technology inside, but are there any out there that are truly a good fit for a small bony wrist?

DD1 has a small wrist and has a fitbit with a sports loop type strap from Amazon. I am tiny also and use an Apple sports loop. They are woven with Velcro so can fit much better.

This strap https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09WK5J259/
She has an Inspire 2.

Oh, thank you so much, that looks promising. Really appreciate the link too. I think that's the issue with a lot of these fitness trackers, they all have these quite rigid rubber straps that sort of stick out from the ends of the actual tracker, rather than curving into the wrist.

I've got the smaller Apple Watch with the webbing and Velcro sports loop, it's fine on my 6" wrist

I have very small wrists and went with an Apple Watch

I've got a fitbit versa 3, and swapped the strap for one from Amazon with links you can remove

I have pretty small wrists and I have this one.

I have the fitbit luxe, which fits perfectly on my smaller wrists (5.5")

I really love the look of that one, but it's blimmin' massive. I can tell it would drive me crackers.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll investigate them all once the kids are finally in bed!

I am wondering if I went to John Lewis or somewhere, if they'd let me try one on.

I don't do Apple though (sorry I should have said this in my original post really!).

Garmin Vivosmart 4 (at least) comes in two different sizes to cater for small(er) wrists.

lljkk · 08/07/2023 20:22

Garmin vivo something is especially narrow.

I have a charge 3 with this strap. My wrist at smallest point is 6.25."

I don't really wear it on my wrist much, though, I wear it middle forearm, upper arm, ankles. I have RSI history so forearm is sensitive. I don't care about counting steps accurately, rather active minutes & energy exerted/heart rate.

I have a Fitbit Inspire 3 and my wrist circumference is 6.5”.

Facefortheradio · 08/07/2023 21:00

I have the Amazfit GTS2 mini and slim wrists. I have swapped the strap for a more comfortable velcro strap because I found the one it came with made me sweaty

LindorDoubleChoc · 08/07/2023 21:12

My wrists are 5". No wonder I look like such a blimp at size 16!

Choccyoclocky · 08/07/2023 21:14

My 10yo daughter has a Fitbit Inspire 2. Only £44 and is actually really good!

RedLem0nade · 08/07/2023 21:15

Garmin Venu 2S maybe?

Allthings · 08/07/2023 22:21

My wrists are smaller than yours and I have never had a problem with the fitbit straps. I have had more issues with general watches not being able to be sized down and then sit on my wrist properly.

I am currently sporting a replacement Fitbit strap like the gold one which has been linked, although it is just to say small enough.

smooththecat · 08/07/2023 22:25

I have exactly 6 inches going on and I wear a Garmin watch in the smaller size. I don’t wear it all the time, kind of defeats the point, but imo all smart watches are fugly as hell so might as well go for a proper sports watch. I particularly don’t like Apple watch and I love their design.

NeverEnoughCake2 · 08/07/2023 22:51

I have tiny wrists and had trouble getting a good enough fit for HR monitoring with my fitbit. I've now got a Garmin Venu 2S which fits and works way better, while not looking ridiculously huge.

Ilikecurrybest · 08/07/2023 23:09

i have tiny wrists and spent ages trying to work out which ones would look ok. In the end I bought a garmin venu 2. It’s great and not too big.

UndercoverCop · 08/07/2023 23:16

My wrist is between 5.5 and 6 inches I have the Fitbit inspire 3 and my wrist is wider than the face of the watch , it also came with two straps so I was able to choose the smaller one

TheFutureIs · 09/07/2023 08:01

I have worn my Garmin Vivoactive 4s for years. It does go all the way across my wrist (also 6in circumference) but doesn't look silly and is really comfortable
