Is anyone planning to do this and would like to share how they are getting on? I can't wait to do it, bit I think I'm going to start next week as have a busy week ahead (OH and dd's birthdays plus in-laws visiting). I also want to do different rest days, so it will be easier to tailor it starting slightly later.

Ooh I do like Heather! Any idea how long the sessions are?

HDready · 01/01/2023 14:02

Answering my own question, 35 - 45 minutes on average! I’m keen

biddyboo · 01/01/2023 14:06

I'm hoping there will be a fair few 35 minute ones, as it's much easier to fit in on my lunch break then!

Have you done any? I’ve done three so far, although I had to cut short day two as it was 47 minutes - we don’t have that much time Heather!

No, I was planning to start next week so I can do different rest days. How have you found them? I'm on the HR Facebook group, and the general consensus seems to be that the workouts are pretty intense. I looked at the one today, and she seems to be doing a longer warm up and cool down than usual, which is increasing the length of the workout overall. The 30 min metcon ones are my fave because they are perfect for lunchbreaks. I like that they are quick but sweaty and intense 😆

Day 1 down for me and didn’t find it too bad compared to some of her workouts , is she leading us in gently? 😄

Not sure that I’m up for a 47 minute workout though, not because of lack of time but don’t think my body will be up to it!

moiraswigs · 06/01/2023 09:59

Oh me! I love Heather. Haven't done today's HIIT yet, have been feeling it in my arms (and abs!) from day 3.

biddyboo · 07/01/2023 11:30

Finally started today with day 1 metcon 🥵 My in laws are staying this weekend so I had to do it in a corner of my bedroom as I didn't fancy doing it in front of them in the living room 😅 I love metcon, so I'm glad there is going to be lots throughout the programme.

I like the format of these ones, seems to be a longer warmup and cool down than her previous videos. I did day 5 this morning, abs and mobility. Looking forward to a nice rest day tomorrow.

brokenstone · 23/01/2023 12:03

Is anyone else still doing this?

I'm really enjoying this programme so far.

moiraswigs · 23/01/2023 17:26

I am, did the lower body metcon at lunchtime. How are you getting on? I was sore all weekend from the legs and metcon (though I had to do them back to back which didn't help!)

biddyboo · 23/01/2023 21:18

I am loving it. I started a bit late so did day 13 today (unilateral leg workout). I love the variety, I love all the metcon (my fave), and I really like using the resistance band for lower body workouts. I have noticed progression already as my heaviest dumbbells don't feel heavy enough anymore so I'm thinking in investing in a heavier pair.

I'm doing full body metcon tomorrow after legs today (and a lower body-focused yoga session) so I'll anticipate feeling sore afterwards 😄

I really like it too! Agree the metcon is great. Just wish more of them were under 40 minutes!

moiraswigs · 24/01/2023 17:33

I agree, the difference mentally between 42 mins and 37 mins is huge for me. Tuesday is my office day so I'm on a break, arms tomorrow, I love doing arms, makes me feel super strong!

biddyboo · 24/01/2023 20:43

I used to hate doing arm workouts, but the more I have gotten used to doing separate upper body workouts the more I've come to actually enjoy them. I've really liked the ones I've done so far in this program. The variety is good and I like mixing things up using the resistance band.

Just finished day 25, does anyone else feel that there's been an increase in intensity this week? I am so glad it's rest tomorrow!

biddyboo · 04/02/2023 15:50

I'm a bit behind you as I only did day 22 today, but the upper body metcon yesterday was intense with the 50s on 10s off. I had to press pause a couple of times to give myself a few more seconds to recover! I am really enjoying the variety of the programme though. I liked the cardio and abs workout I did today. I used to hate no equipment cardio but I don't mind it anymore as I appreciate that it's good to mix things up a bit!

Prior to this, I used to mix and match with different youtube instructors, but I have made more consistent gains following this series. My fitness and strength has definitely improved. I ordered some heavier dumbbells today (just need to find somewhere to store them all!). I've been doing quite a bit of pilates and yoga, which is really helping with the flexibility and mobility side of things.

Have you done 2.0? I think I'm going to do that next (I haven't done it before) but mix in some metcon as I really like it.

OP posts:
HDready · 05/02/2023 14:05

I’m further behind, just done day 16. But I think it’s great.

biddyboo · 05/02/2023 14:51

I have a feeling I'm going to be sore tomorrow after doing day 22 lower body 🥵

OP posts:
moiraswigs · 07/02/2023 21:32

Did day 26 this eve. Not too bad tbh. Better than some of them last week. Day 21 arms was tough!

I've been doing Heather on and off since the start of the pandemic, I also used less mills for a while but have cancelled my subscription. Feel like with Heather I'm getting stronger while with body pump I found it really difficult to progress.

I've done 1.0 and it was HARD, some of the stability ball moves were impossible. Haven't done 2.0. I hear it's more strength based with a cardio kick at the end. I might do it after this one too. Then I was thinking of revisiting 1.0 to see if it's any easier now that I'm a bit fitter and stronger, but will prob still be aching!

biddyboo · 12/02/2023 13:54

That is interesting about the exercise ball Moiraswigs. I've bought one recently to try out. I thought it would be lovely, stretchy pilates style exercises. Maybe not 😆

I've just finished day 28 lower body metcon. Phew, that was tough. My legs are trembling. For the first few weeks of doing this, I never really got sore, but for the last couple of weeks I have definitely had days where I really felt it the next day! It's annoying, but I'm taking it as a sign that I'm using/strengthening muscles in ways that I don't usually work them.

OP posts:
biddyboo · 12/02/2023 13:57

I am looking forward to a day off tomorrow and a good deep stretch yoga session.

Google stability ball pike to see what I mean! Though tbf that may have only come up once or twice but the horror is scarred on my brain.

Did day 31 this morning, chest and back, which was a nice break for my legs after day 30. The lower body workouts in this series are no joke!
