C25K while working from home, anyone want to join me?

I've been meaning to (re)start C25K for a few months and just this minute figured if I don't start holding myself responsible I won't get to it at all.

I work from home 3/4 days a week and still find it hard to fit in exercise. I plan to fit in the 30 min sessions before I start work, after seeing my DC off to school. Ideally that +/- a desk workout type thing.

If I don't, I get next to no exercise all week and I feel shit.

Is there anyone else, particularly those working from home but anyone is welcome, who would like to join me and help keep ourselves accountable? I could do with a motivation boost!

I'll join you! Also working from home some of the time, I've just lacked motivation as I'm so exhausted all the time (get up at 5am for my other job!)

Had a few memories come up on my Facebook from 1 year ago when I'd completed c25k and was doing it regularly - and now I reckon I can barely run for half a minute without dying 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ so yeah, let's do it!

I hear (read??) you!!

I can't decide whether to jump straight back in with a run tomorrow morning or build up to it with a walk first.

Of course I know the walk idea is just me putting off what I really need to do, which is start the programme. I also know I quite enjoy it once I get going, and even more so when I've done!

What say? Run tomorrow?!

I'm starting tonight at 5.30 - well in theory I am, I'll come back to you at 6.30 and let you know if I managed 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️😂

lisavanderpumpscloset · 09/05/2022 15:46

You can do it!!

And if you do, it'll push me to do mine in the morning 😁

I did it!! @lisavanderpumpscloset now it's your turn - it actually wasn't as bad as I thought, though I came home red as a beetroot and OH said he wasn't coming within 5 yards until I showered 😂😂

MrBoldwood · 09/05/2022 19:18

I’m not going to join you but wanted to say - do it and keep going - it’s the most life changing brilliant thing to do! I started it in the first lockdown and I now run 5K 2-3 times a week and NEVER would have thought that possible! Well done and keep going!!!

WELL DONE YOU!!!

You should be so proud of yourself!

Oh gosh. Now it's my turn 🙈

I'll check back in the morning and let you know if I did it - wish me luck!

Thank you @MrBoldwood

It's something I have wanted to do for a while (parkrun is the aim) but just never completed it. I'm hoping this time I'll get through it without a break.

Well done you for getting as far as you have!

I'm just starting it too! I've been doing a few weeks on the treadmill which has given me the courage to join an outside group couch to 5k (over 11 weeks), but still need to do the other two runs solo.

@Iamclearlyamug I did it!! W1 R1 is done!

It was easier than I expected but I swear the walks are shorter than the runs 😆

Hope you're doing ok this morning

@lisavanderpumpscloset atta girl I knew you could! When's your next one? I'm doing another tonight - I know they say you should have a rest day in between but I struggle for time some days and want to be sure I get them done 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Well done @Sameiam too 😊😊

lisavanderpumpscloset · 10/05/2022 09:32

@Iamclearlyamug I'm planning my next one for tomorrow. I'm the same, I don't get enough time to spread them out but I also haven't told anyone I'm doing it so I'm limited to times I'm home alone. I don't think I've ever had pains after a run so it should be ok to not miss a day?

OP posts:
Iamclearlyamug · 10/05/2022 10:24

Should be fine, I mean I'm jogging so slowly I'm barely out of walk 😂😂

lisavanderpumpscloset · 11/05/2022 18:01

Didn't get to do my run today, ended up having to go into the office. Did do a ten min workout and lots of walking though!

Runs planned for tomorrow and Friday mornings

W1 R2 done! My jiggly bits hurt 😂

OP posts:
lisavanderpumpscloset · 13/05/2022 15:09

Did W1 R3 this morning, surprised to find I didn't really ache.

A little hesitant to start W2. Can I really run for 90 seconds? I've done it before so will give it a go.

For now, I'm taking the weekend off Grin

Next run planned for Monday

Hi ladies, please can I join you?
I'm a long time on/ off runner. Had recently got back up to 5k but then I had a holiday followed by covid and I'm back to not running again! Really need some motivation to get back into regular running.
I start work at 9 (WFH) so am hoping I can get out before work two days a week and then get my third run in on the weekend.

Iamclearlyamug · 13/05/2022 16:27

@emilyjeff welcome to the club, I've completed my 3 runs this week but haven't stopped eating since 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

lisavanderpumpscloset · 13/05/2022 19:17

Welcome @emilyjeff, I was the same, although never finished the whole programme. Went on Hol, got covid and struggled to get back into it until now. You can do it

@Iamclearlyamug well done for completing week 1!

OP posts:
Iamclearlyamug · 13/05/2022 19:18

@lisavanderpumpscloset my next run is Monday too, let's smash it 😊😊

lisavanderpumpscloset · 13/05/2022 19:26

@Iamclearlyamug honestly, you have no idea how much that helps. Thank you!

OP posts:
emilyjeff · 15/05/2022 15:58

Thanks for the welcome 😊 it's been a busy weekend so planning for my first run to be before work tomorrow. There I've said it so I have to go now!
Hoping I dont need to start over from week 1, I'm planning to just run and see how far/ how long I can do

LBB2020 · 15/05/2022 23:25

Can I join too?
I did W1 R1 today! I did C25K a few years back and really enjoyed it, continued running 5k a couple of times a week but then lockdown happened and I fell pregnant with DS2 so it all went out of the window! I'm planning my next run for Tuesday

lisavanderpumpscloset · 17/05/2022 07:05

How did it go @emilyjeff ?
