Did day 33- lowered the weights because quite frankly it's tough using just body weight.
more hamstring exercises- mine will be popping!

I'll join in. I did Epic 3 Day 26 on Monday - back & biceps - and Day 27 on Tuesday - No repeat squats. Not sure that did my knees much good, even though before the workout they were fine.

Placemarking! HEAT 18 today and was a very sedate chest and core day. Core must be stronger cos I actually managed to do the whole thing. Barely got my HR up tho.

@Anjelika I’m a tad scared of Epic 3 not long to go for me to make a decision as to what I do after Heat.

@BigButtons I don't think Epic 3 is any harder really. Bear in mind I've only done around 8 workouts from it though! I still think one of the worst workouts in terms of muscle soreness afterwards was the legs one from the first week of Heat!

@BigButtons Hahaha totally. Paid for it today with day 19 whole body dumbell. It was dropsets and I had to drop to bodyweight by the second set for some 😂

@ManxRhyme I think body weight is plenty a lot of the time.
I am due to do day 34 later. I was knocked backwards by poorly stored boxes at work today and seem to have pulled a muscle in my left calf and hamstring from trying to steady myself. I failed and was pinned down 😮.

@ManxRhyme thanks. I feel better now. Actually I feel worse because I have just done day 34 pyramid full body. I had to modify ALOT during this one. No way could I do 20/40/60/40/20 push ups, tricep dips, Bulgarian lunges.
This week has been absolute hamstring murder. Hoping she will focus on something else next week😮🧐

I just read up the old thread. I agree EH day 31 was bloody murder Shock I really struggled to get through, had to pause the vid on few occasions as my heart was racing like crazy and 20 second break wasn’t cutting it. Never been so happy when the 30 mins was up and the bulgarian lunges torture was over.

Hello, I've been following this thread and posted a couple of times on the previous one. I've just completed week 6 of epic 3 and will be off exercise for a week now as travelling.

I know someone mentioned they found epic 3 ok compared to epic heat but i'm actually finding epic 3 a lot harder. I bought some heavier weights though so that could be to do with it...

She said epic 3 would have more ab work but it's doesn't really. I still have to do an add-ons (if I have time).

@SophieLion that’s interesting. Yes the heavier weights will definitely be making it harder. I find I do add ins most days with heat so time- wise the slightly longer Epic three will be about the same if I don’t do an add on. I hold a 3 min still plank most days and she has a weighted abs session which I really like. I can’t lower my legs very far as my lower back arches but I still really feel it and my abs are so much firmer and flatter.

To be honest bigbuttons, I'm not sure it's just the heavier weights. I find the combinations of exercises are harder and more tiring and the work/rest ratio is more in favour of work!. Plus the HIIT days seem worse. Today I did cardio complexes and the first complex was 20xburpee then 20 x leg kicks for 3 mins..... was so proud of myself when I finished!!

I got diastasis recti with my last pregnancy so I have to be careful with my abs. I put my hands under my lower black for most lower ab work for the same reason as you but my upper abs are fine. Girvan has some very nice 10 min ab workouts. Well done on your planking!!

@SophieLion I rarely do her hiit. I find 4 sessions a week plenty most of the time. Also I don’t see the point of half killing your self. Her favourite cardio moves are just too quick. I find I get plenty out of breath doing her steady state cardio which has no rests but does get my heart rate up.
For me it’s a fine line between pushing myself and being proud or too much and being utterly miserable!
Well done on doing the hiit.

Found you all again! After a week off the wagon due to work and other commitments, for penance today I did the day 25 EMOM from Heat. Unlike childbirth it was less horrendous than it seemed and was over fairly quickly. So much so I added 10 min abs session on the end, which seemed to go on for a lot longer than the EMOM.

I’m definitely getting back on the wagon next week as my 5 days hunched over my laptop with very little exercise has rekindled the odd twinge in my back and knees. I definitely don’t miss the creaky and don’t want it to come back!

I’m thinking of adding a CrossFit class at the gym once a week, would that be madness? A friend of mine has just started and is a huge fan, but I’m feeling a bit tired just thinking about it.

Well done on doing day 25. I have wimped out of nearly all of the hiit days. In my defence I am usually at my fella’s house and suffering the excesses of too much wine on a Sunday .
Maybe I should do that one if it wasn’t that bad?

I think you just need to bite the bullet @BigButtons, in the end they are never quite as bad as you fear, plus I think by avoiding them you’re not upping your fitness maybe quite as much, meaning that when you do do one they are perhaps more horrendous than they need to be. I say that as an avid HIIT avoider too. I shall endeavour to do them henceforth and not wimp out every time.

Ooo yay! Epic people! I'm on day 18 of epic heat / core and chest. I'm not doing it with heavy weights, just the heaviest hand weights I've got with sand filled weight bags strapped to them 😆 that, plus working hard at my sport and a bit of stress induced weightloss. My bf saw me without a top on outside of the bedroom the other day and commented with amazement that I was in bloody good shape 💪😁 I presume it's working, so I'm keeping on. I don't do a workout every day, as I intersperse it with sport and yoga but I really love it! So pleased to have people to chat to about it, if you don't mind me joining in?

@Melassa I did a Sunday hiit a few weeks back and nearly thro up. It was worse than I though it would be- so many burpees and it wasn’t even a burpee bonanza. I hate getting really out of breath. But I do need to do them. I will try and fit one in tomorrow. Hold me accountable.

Yes, I subbed the burpees in the EMOM with squat thrusts, mainly because I am so slow doing burpees I’d not have had any seconds left at the end! I don’t know how CG does them so quickly.

At the rate I'm going I'm doing one heat week over 2 weeks. Went to a soft play today which allowed adults in and the solid hour of chasing after my kid was enough workout for me. 🥵

Tomorrow will be day 20 tabata style. Looks doable. If I survive that I may do the weighted abs after.
