Today I worked out for the first time in 20 years! I did a Joe Wicks beginners workout which I did enjoy. Can anyone recommend any other workouts that I can try on YouTube as I think I need to vary what I do. Would love something with decent (indie) music if that exists.

Not indie music, but there is an African dance workout which makes me smile every time
😊

Thanks. Do you have a link please?

Not YouTube but I have this week downloaded Workout for Women and I’m enjoying it, it’s got a free 7 minute workout a day with music

Yourownpersonaljesus · 21/08/2020 23:05

gggrrrargh I'll take a look at that - thank you.

jessica smith..she's brilliant

EstuaryBird · 21/08/2020 23:12

Depends what sort of workout you’re after really.

Not the music you want but Walking at Home with Leslie Sansone is excellent all round exercise. I lost over 2 stone through lockdown with dieting and Leslie...I’m a much better shape and much fitter now.

Don’t be fooled by the title, it’s not just walking...

Can't link for some reason, but its Kukuwa fitness Smile

Yourownpersonaljesus · 21/08/2020 23:21

Will check both of those out - thanks. I'm not sure really EstuaryBird, something to ease me back into exercising again after not doing anything for a very long time I guess.

By the way OP, I'm starting with 10 minutes or so.

applepineapple · 22/08/2020 08:18

Popsugar have a variety of styles and intensities, I've just picked out a beginner video from their playlist

Im doing yoga following youtube using 30 days with adriene and its fab but obviously no indie music is that.

Halfling · 22/08/2020 08:44

Yoga with Adrienne is brilliant. She has a 30 days programme on YouTube which helps build a routine

Yourownpersonaljesus · 22/08/2020 09:15

Thanks so much everyone. The Joe Wicks workout I did was only 20 minutes but I was really sweating - I'm so unfit! I'm determined to change that though.

Following with interest!

Yourownpersonaljesus · 22/08/2020 15:07

Ok, so day 2 done. I just did the Joe Wicks Basic Beginners HIIT. Only 15 minutes but felt like much longer! Don't know how I used to work out for an hour or more back in the day! I'm going to go through all of the Joe Wicks beginner workouts and then try those suggested by you lot. Thanks again.

I do Leslie Sansone - really dash for beginners. I’ve been doing it daily for around 3 months now, plus graduated couch to 5k. I also like up to the best fitness

Yourownpersonaljesus · 22/08/2020 21:35

Thanks Darbs76 that's a second recommendation for Leslie. Just had a little look - I like the way she has normal people doing the workout with her.

I like Pamela Reiff’s dance workouts. She does a 90s one, an 80s one, a happy one etc. Fun and not too tough

Shayisgreat · 22/08/2020 21:37

I really like Bodyfit by Amy. Some of the popsugar fitness videos are good too.

Panticles · 22/08/2020 21:38

Body project on YouTube is good. They have regular people with the instructor. It is low impact, totally manageable and funny.

StillDumDeDumming · 22/08/2020 21:48

I love body project different intensities, but doable

Yourownpersonaljesus · 22/08/2020 22:16

Have just had a look at all of these - they all look really good. I think I might alternate them with Joe Wicks. Thank you for the recommendations.

I really like Moms into Fitness with Lindsay Brin, not catchy music unfortunately but effective and Lindsay is very smiley!

Fitness Blender has lots of good workouts, different styles/ lengths etc.

Yourownpersonaljesus · 22/08/2020 22:54

Thanks RubySlippers77.
