Please come and join me.

We can share workouts we like, ideas to replace equipment etc. Might as well use this time to get fit.

I have been using YouTube for workouts, and recently discovered the 7 app. They also do a yoga and a barre one too. I've done more yoga in the last few days to help my anxiety and am feeling loads better. I don't even like yoga.

Anyone else in? Tell me what you've been up to and we can motivate each other.

I have got my bike on a turbo trainer and am alternating that with using my rowing machine. I subscribe to Yoga with Adrienne's app and plan on doing that every other day.

I tried to get DD (13) to join me with Yoga but she found it boring. Not sure what she is going to do but she will need to do something.

My rowing machine's computer has a fish game on it which is quite fun, maybe she will do that.

Me! Daily yoga here plus I've been doing some livestream Pilates classes - they're ones where you wear your baby in a carrier (if you have both!) so they count as entertainment for DS as well as being a good workout. We bought a cheap exercise bike from Amazon a year ago and have put it by the doors to our balcony so it feels like you're cycling outside too.

Maydayredalert · 23/03/2020 09:19

Would your DD like Barre, maybe? Or something different like boxercise?

I did a yoga with Adriene the other day that was for skaters which was really good. I am a figure skater but obviously can't skate at the moment, so will be working on my balance and flexibility.

I meant to add also, a lot of the online exercise apps are giving them away free for a while, or extending their free trials. I know Davinas OYG was one, but I'm sure others are too.

@mynameiscalypso the exercise bike on the balcony is such a great idea!

Thank you for joining me Flowers

Les Mills are offering some free online content at the moment. I've done a couple of the combat ones and though not quite the same energy as at the gym I've enjoyed them.

My gym is running classes on Zoom, reduced timetable and they are only doing HIIT and powerwave but it's better than nothing!

Maydayredalert · 23/03/2020 18:19

Zoom has been my saviour the last few days! We've had yoga classes, piano lessons, class meet ups and virtual pubs!

Im just back from a bike ride with my eldest. I live very rurally so very rarely see anyone, 2 dog walkers, that was it. We were all very distant.

I'll do some yoga later, because I swear that's the only thing keeping me sane at the moment.

DH is a PT so I am extremely lucky to have a purpose built gym at home. Unfortunately, I’ve never really been into exercising (loved karate in my 20’s but that’s it). I suffer with anxiety (possibility hormone related since DS2 is only 7m) & I think routine & achieving something each day would be good for me.

This week I’ve started C25K. After both runs I’ve felt a great boost so I hope I continue doing that. I expect to end isolation as a bona fide runner! I must remember to stretch properly though - my calves are killing me.

I really want to tone my stomach area & bingo wings - two things which really bug me. Will see if DH can help with that.

David Lloyd have frozen all memberships but will be releasing a free app with on demand workouts. Not sure how that’ll wrk on my phone though.

I’d love to do something calm long like yoga but I’m really, really bad at it. No flexibility or balance. I tried a class once & it was a disaster. I can’t use YouTube during the day as DS1 depends Curious George is played on all TVs simultaneously.

Since I’m doing C25K every other day, it would be good to find something in between 🤔

happytobemrsg · 23/03/2020 23:33

*demands

Maydayredalert · 23/03/2020 23:37

I have no balance, or flexibility but I find that yoga really, really helps my anxiety. Especially recently.

I tend to do mine in the evenings when the kids have gone to bed so it is quiet, could that be an option for you. I quite like yoga with adriene, there is a skaters one I do but she has lots of others too.

I could try to do it in the evenings but DH is so bloody noisy. I’m usually super tired too. I’ll try to give it a go tomorrow & will report back!

ElenadeClermont · 24/03/2020 10:02

Jillian Michaels, here I come again.

DS has a lot of PE homework, or so he says, so he does a lot of HIIT anyway.

NainAGP · 24/03/2020 19:08

Anybody know of Zumba Gold videos, on Youtube perhaps?

doadeer · 24/03/2020 21:15

My mum is a yoga teacher teacher and she's done loads of fab online videos I've actually been able to do! (Live in a different city) it's been lovely doing her classes again ❤️ and makes me feel connected to her

lekkerkroketje · 24/03/2020 21:23

I've been doing Tamara Rojo's English National Ballet classes. But are they tough! I can only do half before I need a sit down. I think I need to find a more challenging real life class when this is over!

BunnytheBee · 24/03/2020 21:30

I love yoga for its physics and mental benefits but tried the 30 day yoga challenge with Adrienne earlier this year and found it so dull. I only did the first 3 so haven’t gone back to her but maybe she has some other things.

I used to like Blogilates so plan to try some of her videos again. She does some great and and thigh videos.

I am also going to try to get out at least every other day for a run. Ideally 3 runs a week and then a work every other day even if just round the block but I’m worried we might be on more restrictions at some stage!

DartmoorChef · 25/03/2020 01:05

Wii

Bouncingbomb · 25/03/2020 06:40

I don’t like Adrienne’s 30 day yoga Bunny but I like the app, plenty of different teachers and styles, meditation sessions etc.

BunnytheBee · 25/03/2020 08:08

Didn’t realise there was an app @Bouncingbomb I just downloaded it now

Also sorry for typos above. I meant Blogilates does some great ab and leg workouts that have really helped me tone up in the past and that id try to get out for some runs and walks!

The Wii fit is food fun. We had one but I really have no idea where it went.

happytobemrsg · 25/03/2020 08:31

Still doing the C25k & weirdly looking forward to today’s run.

BunnytheBee · 25/03/2020 10:41

good fun not food fun 🙄

BunnytheBee · 25/03/2020 10:42

I did a very short run yesterday (about 1 mile followed by nearly half a mile walking to cool down) but I figure that leaves room for improvement!

Today I will walk but it can get boring walking around the same places all the time. I need to try to get some variety in. I’m lucky that there are some nice places to walk near where I live.

Oopsy41 · 25/03/2020 10:48

Im doing different stuff from YouTube. Yesterday it was kettlebell and a short body project workout. Today I did Gina G 1 mile ABBA walk plus some weights. I get bored really easily so have to do different stuff.
