VLM Ballot Entry

Anyone entered the VLM ballot for 2020? If you log onto realbuzz some people have been given bib numbers already. Someone told me that this isn't always a good indicator and that if you have a number already you might not necessarily get in, they have been known to disappear!!

Anyone with any prior experience?

I've just had an email offering early entry into the next Manchester marathon.

(I'm guessing They know something I don't)

To anyone still waiting to hear, have you tried logging in to your realbuzz registration accounts? My entry is showing as confirmed in there so may be a way for you to check.

My magazine hasn’t arrived yet. I ran a GFA time earlier this year but FORGOT TO APPLY 😭.

Yes, I have been checking RealBuzz and there has been no update.

Which, if successful entries are showing, suggests it's a 'no'. And it's shoddy to have to work on inference, not actual information, two days after the date they chose to publicise as results day.

Rejected in the ballot since 2004 although I have been lucky enough to run it twice through charity places. Run it should actually be complete it lol.
Nothing in the post or showing on my Realbuzz entries.
I am actually too old and fat now but still checking every 10 minutes....

It was probably a great system back in the days before the internet - all entrants got a 'yes' or a 'no' magazine, and you couid ring for news if you had not received anything by the Friday following the Monday posting.

That just doesn't really work for an online system, especially as most people do not receive a magazine at all.

Realbuzz has updated and it’s the inevitable no for me. I did it this year for charity - amazing event but the fund raising was more stressful than the training!

Good luck to all those who got in and happy running to all ... no doubt we will all be here next year again waiting to hear 😂

I have a number on buzz but no email to say either way - does that mean I have a place ?

I think so Aud, I got a number and 30 mins later an email to confirm. Not got magazine yet must have got lost somewhere in the post! Congrats!!!

Which is worse, the actual training or the fundraising?

I have a charity place, for a cause that matters to me a great deal.

I’ve just completed the entry, and had the confirmation email. I’m actually quite excited about the chance to fundraise and really hope their faith in me to pull it off is well-placed.

It also completes my mission to be the perfect annoying twat (Lacies know what I mean!)

I got a ‘no’ earlier today... waiting on my charity application with bated breath! They’ve already been onto my referee (who is also running for them) to ask if he thinks I’m a good bet! 😬 apparently there’s a lot of competition for those places too...

I got a yes! Had completely forgotten that this was the week to hear. Ran it in 2018 and this one will he my last I think. Commiserations to all those who did not get in this time and good luck for charity places 😀🏃🏽‍♀️🏆

It was a no for me (3rd time). I've applied for a charity place m, but the charity I wanted to run for (a cause that's close to my heart) has already chosen their team so I'm on a waiting list. I won't hold my breath!
