Anyone got this DVD? I've lost over 3 stone since having lo but still want to lose one more so was thinking of trying this. It's a long shot but just wondering if anyone else wanted to try it with me and we can keep the pressure on to complete it!?

Toastedbeagle! Well done! Day 8! Woo! I'm sitting here trying to work up the motivation to do day 5 but your post has spurred me on and I'll head downstairs and do it now. I may try muting Gillian too - she was grating on my yesterday lol!

Jsy123 · 03/02/2017 21:08

I did it! Day 5! Thanks toastedbeagle - your post saying you'd done 8 was the push I needed!

Jsy123 · 03/02/2017 21:09

Ps. Muted Gillian! Waaaaaay better lol!

toastedbeagle · 04/02/2017 08:34

Well done! I think it's def easier if you feel some knows if you miss a day lol

Mrsmorton · 04/02/2017 08:39

Could you do it if you live in an upstairs flat or is it too noisy? Jumping about etc.

Jsy123 · 04/02/2017 14:44

Mrsmorton - hmm there are 3 sets of cardio that last 2 minutes each that involve jumping jack and bum kicks that would probably disturb neighbours but done at a reasonable hour shouldn't cause too much distress! Depends on your neighbours though...

Day 9 done!

I've definitely noticed a difference in my endurance- on day 1 I couldn't do 3 push ups and today I did 14 without stopping (modified ones obviously!).

I'm only a couple of pounds lighter which is annoying but I'm hoping my "muscles are holding on to water / I'm losing fat but gaining muscle" or whatever the theory is!! I suppose more importantly I feel amazing!! Two weeks ago I was having half a bottle of wine every night and eating biscuits and chocolate and this week I genuinely don't WANT to indulge in that sort of thing.

It's a work night out tonight and to be honest the thought of a late night and booze doesn't appeal at all!! What's happened to me?!?

Mrsmorton · 04/02/2017 16:35

Thanks @Jsy123

Jsy123 · 04/02/2017 20:43

Well done toastedbeagle! I've done day 6! Feeling good but impatient for results! I feel like I may be ready for level 2 soon, before the 10 days - maybe Monday on day 8 I'll give it a whirl! Eek!

OP posts:
Jsy123 · 05/02/2017 20:13

I've done day 7! I actually have level
2 a bash as I found doing level 1 the last two days fairly easy. Lordy! Level 2 is tough! Think it's going to take me a while to get comfortable with it so glad I started it a bit early. I was pooped after!

OP posts:
toastedbeagle · 05/02/2017 21:16

Jsy123 I'm so impressed!! I have not done the Shred today gasp!!!

I was out til 1am on a work night out and then my son woke up for the day at 04:50am! After less than 4 hours sleep I felt pretty grim!! We did a lovely family walk though in the woods (and a massive roast dinner which was delicious after a week of Weight Watchers tracking!) . I hit 10,000 steps which was a small achievement.

So tomorrow I will regroup and advance on! I think my knees and thighs needed a day off as even jumping jacks are painful and tomorrow I will decide whether to do day 10 of level one or push myself on the level 2! Eep!

Jsy123 · 05/02/2017 22:07

Well deserved rest toastedbeagle - you've been doing amazing! Not going to lie, level 2 is tough but I guess we have to do it to progress. It's a bit disconcerting to feel like I'm back to square one but I'm sooooo hoping that by this time next week I'll be telling you level 2 is actually ok!

Glad you had a good day and so great you hit 10,000 steps!

toastedbeagle · 06/02/2017 07:48

Level 2 done ✅ wow! In a way the moves are more fun... just think how awesome we will look this time next week!! It can only get easier !

I weighed in this morning and have lost 2.5kg since last Mon 😃

Following it up with a whey protein and berry smoothie which sounds grim but am hoping tastes better than it sounds!!

Jsy123 · 06/02/2017 19:38

Toastedbeagle - I needed your post today! I have actually been dreading doing level 2 again today! I felt a bit defeated after getting the hang of level 1 to feel like I was starting all over again as level 2 is so hard!

I was going to skip today but you saying 'imagine what we'll like like next week' has spurred me on! Got to remember it's only 25 mins a day #NoExcuses!!!

Jsy123 · 06/02/2017 20:36

Ok, looks like today will be a day off after all. My lo has an ear infection and isn't settling. I usually do the DVD once he's in bed but I don't want to start it if I'm going to have to stop part way. I WILL do it tomorrow though. On the up side, I've eaten super healthily today so feel good about that.

OP posts:
toastedbeagle · 06/02/2017 21:46

Hope your LO feels better soon. It's so frustrating to be interrupted- the Ocado man appeared half way through my workout once and I was gutted! Convinced the 3 minutes pause undid all my hard work!!

Good luck for tomorrow. Am setting my alarm for 5:45am so I can do it before work as working til 7pm tomorrow so will be too tired afterwards!

toastedbeagle · 06/02/2017 21:47

Oh and the whey protein smoothie was grim! I only managed 2 mouthfuls and retched into the sink Confused

Tomorrow going to add more berries and less whey!!

Jsy123 · 06/02/2017 22:45

Wow getting up at 5.45am! That's dedication! I'm very impressed!

I should do it in the mornings but I find it soooo hard to get up. I've been doing it as soon as lo is in bed, it's worked well although leaves me less time for myself in the evenings.

Adding berries to your shake should help - I find raspberries quite good at masking rough tasting stuff. They are good for you too!

OP posts:
toastedbeagle · 07/02/2017 06:56

I forgot to set my alarm so didn't wake up til 6:15am, but had laid out all my workout kit ready so ran downstairs to do it! Felt easier today although I'm blatantly only doing the easy options!! My legs don't bend at the hip the same way Natalie's do!!

Hope you can do it tonight and your son had a decent night. I find if I do it at night I am too wired to sleep!

Jsy123 · 07/02/2017 20:41

I did it! Day 8 (day 2 of level 2). It wasn't as bad as I was anticipating, not as bad as the first time! I'm using heavy weights (3kg each) so this level kills my arms but I'm going to stick with it. Some of the moves I can do advanced, some the easier option and a couple of them I'm having to improvise as I get the hang of it! I suppose that's why you stay on one level for a while, to get the moves right - hopefully they will come along and I'll be able to do it like I was level 1.

Well done you toastedbeagle for getting up early - I know that's what I should do but I'm just not an early riser lol!

OP posts:
toastedbeagle · 07/02/2017 21:08

I meant to ask what weight you use! I'm on 1kg - not even proper weights but 1L squash bottles!! Must invest in some!!

My arms still burn like crazy though!

Jsy123 · 07/02/2017 22:55

Well these are my husbands weights. He doesn't think they are heavy, I do lol!

OP posts:
Lozzapops · 08/02/2017 07:23

I am due to do day 8 today, I am SO bored of level 1, but am loathe to start level 2 early as I fear the same will happen with that one too! Love the idea of muting Jillian and playing some music, so will definitely try that!

Despite the boredom, I am feeling very motivated, mainly spurred on by the fact I've lost 5lb this week. I am hoping to lose just over a stone overall, so to get a good chunk of that shifted by doing the Shred would be great!

Well done everyone on fitting it in - it is hard isn't it? I have a couple of days when I do it once the 3yo has gone to bed, but do struggle with motivation to do it at that time. Weekends are easier as she can be occupied by my husband. Otherwise I am naughty and let her have 25 mins on the iPad while I get it done. All for the greater good (i.e, me looking fabulous! Grin)

toastedbeagle · 08/02/2017 10:19

Hi Lozzapops!!! Well done for getting to day 8! I did 9 days then a rest day and went up to level 2. It's harder but more dynamic, and the change is nice Smile
I set my alarm for 5:50am today and powered through it - 2 children and 2 iPads involved for distraction!!

Jsy123 · 08/02/2017 18:45

Day 9 done! Level 2 is getting better. I still can't do the last two moves so am improvising and will just keep trying. Hopefully I'll get the hang of them soon. So much better when I can get the workout done with early evening. Then I k ow I can just relax (accept I need to do some work now so I can't relax lol!).

Well done everyone for keeping going. Im glad I started this thread - I think I would have given up without it!
