Zombie, run! - anyone tried this app?

From what I can piece together it's an immersive app for the iPhone which enables you to follow a storyline whilst running.
You take the role of Runner 5 who is going out to collect essential items to take back to a small band of survivors, occasionally being chased by zombies!
It sounds BRILLIANT but it's £5 on the app store and I'm too tight to just go ahead and buy it without other recommendations first!
Has anyone tried it? Or even heard of it?

I love this app. I am doing the 5k version and just midway through week 2. I use it with rockmyrun for music cos I still havent got round to downloading music on my phone.

And I've just realised two years later I never did report back - was flattyre Blush.

I maybe used it twice. It was quite good fun but better for new runners who want to walk/run. Could be useful for HIIT if you fancy running then speeding up to a sprint when the zombies chase!

I just completed the last run of week 3! I managed the full runs (6mins, 8 mins and 8 mins) plus the interval run/walks. I think a non-stop 5k is definitely achievable by week 8!

OK, I'm sure this isn't the point, but could you use it on a treadmill?!! It's now a bit hot where I live for too much outdoor running (yep, quality problem, I know)
How does the app monitor and then tell you to modify your speed? Am I missing the point? Please enlighten me!

sorry for not replying. I am almost done with week 5 now and still going. the app doesnt monitor your speed but tells you when to walk, run, slow jog, do heel lifts etc. I am now able to run for 15 mins without stopping. I cover about 6.5k in a 50min session of walk run drills and stretches. My aim is to be able to run for 5k without stopping. Then I will work on increasing my speed.

Thanks kitey, it sounds very motivating - and well done for the great progress! I think I last ran 6k about a decade ago....
