Zombie,run! - anyone tried this app?

From what I can piece together it's an immersive app for the iPhone which enables you to follow a storyline whilst running.
You take the role of Runner 5 who is going out to collect essential items to take back to a small band of survivors, occasionally being chased by zombies!
It sounds BRILLIANT but it's £5 on the app store and I'm too tight to just go ahead and buy it without other recommendations first!
Has anyone tried it? Or even heard of it?

I use it and it's ace!!! It has unknowingly speeded my times up I guess through the sprint intervals and it is really good fun. It also syncs with the runkeeper app, which I use.
Is great fun and really worth a try, the story is lots of fun!

On warning though, don't use it on a dark run unless you want to spend half your time scaring yourself witless and shrieking at everyone coming out of the shadows... Not that I've ever done that of course...

I have the 5k one, which I like a lot. I think the proper app is much better storywise.

I'm on week 1 day 3. I am loving it, well worth the money. I'm not sure if it has gone down in price in UK since op posted but I paid €1.89. Only other thing I've got to add is my thighs are killing and sitting down on the toilet is near impossibleGrin

I've signed up too, I really want to like running so I shall give this a whirl. It was £2.19 on the google play store if anyone is interested.

I was chased by zombies on my run this morning. Was fun! I've only done it a couple of times so far and it's taken me a while to work out how it works e.g. that radio transmissions come on automatically once your mission has ended. Initially I was doing it without a playlist, which was confusing as it was difficult to tell if the app had stopped working or nothing was happening for a while. I also don't really get the stats graphs that come up once you've downloaded your missions. Despite all that, running from the undead is very motivating.

I think I'm going to try this - any advice? I've done couch to 5k once but I'm very slow and I'm hoping this will be fun and get me running a bit faster.

Kewcumber I'm on week three and the running has increased. Was totally knackered but so enjoyed it. I'm finding it better than the normal c25k. X

I have just realised-only two years later- I have replies to my OP!

I never did buy the app but have recently started C25k.....am now off to see how much it is currently, am very excited that I might finally get to use it!

I bought it this morning and I love it a bit already. I get a little bit anxious about running and using the app made that anxiety go. These people need me Grin

I love it! It livens up a run on your own. Only problem is, I often run in woods so occasionally I manage to freak myself out! Blush

I had DH with me (which was very kind of him as he's a much better runner than I am and has to slow his pace right down, but he definitely shambled at one point and put a hand on my shoulder).

Where are you on it?
