It's in integral part of the cool down Rhet that I didn't do.

Running I think you will find I'm slower.
When is the wedding cherry?
Loving the shred report fanny. I started with 3lb weights and after a few sessions decided I definitely need to go and buy 2lb ones before I moved up to level 2.
Really not feeling good, very shivery, stomach cramps and lots of toilet trips. Hoping that might be why really struggled on run, although it was very hilly.

DrNortherner · 23/11/2011 20:56

cherrylove 39 mins for your dh?! Wow. Fab time.

The garmin is showing a blank screen and won't turn on He assures me he didn't immerse it, but as I ran into the bathroom it rather suspiciously was covered in fucking matey bubbles. He is now ranting that for what it cost it should be waterproof because 'what if you wore it as a watch and wanted to go swimming?' Hmm It is perched on top of a radiator to dry out. It better be OK by morning Angry

fanny I have a mental image of your pyramid of weights taking pride of place in your living room, we all make do with a set that we lob under our non S&M style beds but being the ponce you are you have a pyramid of dumbells on display Grin You do make me chuckle!! Am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my headband, thanks so much Smile

fannybanjo · 23/11/2011 21:00

orange believe me, your time for a training run wasn't a struggle time. However if you felt not right doing it, it could be the onset of an illness. Hope you feel better tomorrow chuck.

DrNo pyramid not set up yet, it has screws and I don't screw... Oh dear, let's hope Garmin resurrects tonight. I'll keep you in my prayers.

cherry great time for your DH for his 10k.

MoshiMoshi · 23/11/2011 21:01

hat - I loved your post. You are fabulous and so grounded I really love reading about your runs and trips. If you are humbled by what you saw, then shame on me for moaning about a silly ankle sprain. Keep on keeping on, girl.

fannybanjo · 23/11/2011 21:25

hat is the perfect antidote to my posts ain't she!

wheely you'll steam the Brighton Half. You did the GSR in great time. I wish I'd have got more experience in shorter distance races before doing the HMs. It's the experiences which make you realise what type of racer you are.

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 23/11/2011 21:27

Orange wedding is next may. Quite looking forward to it. Hopefully all this running will mean I am in good shape.

Re shred, I keep meaning to try a double shred session I.e level two then three. Cant be worse than a bmf session

fannybanjo · 23/11/2011 21:31

Oh oh oh we do DOUBLE shred...?! I'm flouncing the Shred Thread.

OP posts:
monkeyLFDTwench · 23/11/2011 21:35

drN fucking matey bubbles - classic, you're so funny.

cherry how exciting! Not going for the big meringue then?! We got married at St Peters, later used for filming the wedding of Bianca and RIIIICCKKKAAAAYYY! Had a small wedding though, so we barely filled the front couple of pews Smile.

So, did tonight's run - only 3.5 miles but tried hill repeats. Found the steepest shortest hill I could and did x 6. Only took 45 seconds each time though, so not much of an effort - next time I'll do more.

No shred today! Ran out of time this evening. fanny this is where the shred gets you, you start off thinking "hmm bit easy" and by the end you're begging for Jillian to STFU. I did level 2 yesterday, so am definitely feeling it today. Outdoor circuits tomorrow, trainer is lovely but a Jekyll and Hyde depending on how many hours sleep he got the night before (new dad Smile).

Just assembling ds2's costume for Roman Day tomorrow, why do they always do this in winter?

rhetorician · 23/11/2011 21:36

I dread the shred, let alone the shred thread. Time for bed. Gedd (it)? think I am slightly delirious...

WishIwasCherryMenlove · 23/11/2011 21:36

Well triple shred would surely be the ironman of exercise videos !

monkeyLFDTwench · 23/11/2011 21:38

cherry I did the double yesterday . 1 and 2. That plank/burped thing in level 2 nearly bloody killed me.

ibbydibby · 23/11/2011 21:40

Cherry great time for your DH

DrNo sounds like he may be buying you a new Garmin....(I, on the other hand, have ruined DH's v pouncy gilet today, by washing it in "easy care" cycle rather than "wool". All the down in it seems to have been compounded into little solid parcels)

Fanny you have given me the urge to shred - can you get it in Tesco?

Monkey good luck with Toga. DS2 has volunteered to take in Father Christmas outfit for assembly next Thurs. We can't find it though....

Orange hope you feel better soon

monkeyLFDTwench · 23/11/2011 21:41

Freudian slip - burpee not burped! Though there was a lot of grunting going on, DH was getting a bit concerned as he lounged on the sofa with a beer.

monkeyLFDTwench · 23/11/2011 21:42

ibby 4.99 with free delivery on amazon!

bonkersLFDT20 · 23/11/2011 21:48

Ah, finally caught up with the w/e race reports!

I didn't see a report from Tulip. Did she run?

DrNo Well done on smashing your 2012 target in advance. You did a really good time. I loathe seeing the elites warming down when you've still got loads of running to do. 8000 people.....must have been a great atmosphere. FWIW, DH and I usually have some bust up or other on race day. Gets you fired up...or something!

Ange Well done. You did a really decent time, especially as you say you're not in top fitness. I'm really sorry about your Dad. It's nice that he came to support you. My best wishes to him.

Fanny AMAZING! You certainly don't look like you regularly eat 5000 calories ;-) Did you say there was a 4 mile hill? And you still did a sub 1.50 HM?! AND you're still a little disappointed?! Crazy lady.

Well done all.

Wheelybug · 23/11/2011 21:52

Ooh double shred, now you're all showing off Grin. Must try it ..... Maybe Friday as tomorrow is a class and a run anyway . Amazon is pretty good for shrewd - a fiver ibby

drno hope the garmin survives the mr matey. I let dh wear mine the other day (so he can't now claim it was an early Christmas pressie). Maybe I shouldn't anymore.

cherry well done your dh. Good luck with the wedding plans ! It was me asking about shin splints thanks . Am hoping it's just a sore shin (hides head in sand). Will review tomorrow.

fanny - the half marathon is kind of a milestone (well 13 of them ).I have not been a confident runner , especially distance wise so when I started running I said I a would do a new race distance every 6 months ish . So I did a 5k in may 2008. Then got preggers so took a year off. It then took me another year to do a 10k (oct 2010) then a local 8.2 miler in march thus year , GSR in oct then the half in feb. I want to culminate in a marathon but want to do London so will keep applying in the ballot until either I get in or turn 40 then I'll either do a different Marathon or get a charity place . Am 36 so only have A few more chances !

rhetorician · 23/11/2011 21:53

I think youse are all nuts...

no sign of baby rhet yet, in case you were wondering...

monkeyLFDTwench · 23/11/2011 21:58

wheely tsk wash your mouth out! 36? some of us are significantly older than 36 .

Just browsing on Amazon. Jillian's Ripped in 30 and Killer Buns available to pre order for 26th December. Count me in!

bonkersLFDT20 · 23/11/2011 22:00

Can't keep up!

Dance - my DS1 does Jazz dance. He did ballet from age 3 up to grade 2, but that clashed with Scouts so he swapped to Jazz. He's quite the dude.

BF - I'm one of those child-led weaning hippy types. DS1 weaned at 3 and DS2 is still going strong at over 2 1/2. Never planned it that way, but it's right for us and I love that fact that anyone else can care for my children (while I go out to work), but only I can BF.

Tomorrow I am taking the morning off work, leaving DS2 at nursery (this is the ONLY time I feel WOHM guilt) and going to buy new running shoes and do some Xmas shopping. Can't wait. I rarely get time on my own to go shopping.

Then I will have to postpone my Friday lunch time hair cut in favour of going for a run.

ibbydibby · 23/11/2011 22:01

Ok Amazon it is then.

Monkey just reread your packet of crisps and DS2 arrival story. When I went into labout with DS1, went to hospital armed with lunch box of goodies. Except that they led me to believe I was hours off giving birth so DH munched the lot!! 2 hours later DS1 was born and I spent a very miserable night almost eating the bed clothes. All they could offer me was an apple left over from tea. It was vile, all bruised and battered. I had to eat it but it was so disgusting I could only eat small amounts at a time.

DH redeemed himself (sort of) the next day when he brought me a 4 pack of jam doughnuts. They went down a treat - 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon! Blush

Off to London tomorrow - does anyone know of a running shop near Liverpool St STation? Am sure there is one but can never find it.

rhetorician · 23/11/2011 22:03

monkey those Jillian dvds will definitely make us pant...36? almost a bleeding decade ago for me. Don't care, actually, couldn't give a toss. Was walking up the road on my way home thinking in 10 years' time will I still feel this good? I really hope so - i fully intend to be running just as much then as now. Although I will be a source of deep shame to DD(s) by then.

ibbydibby · 23/11/2011 22:05

Wheely I heard of a charity yesterday that has 3 places for LM 2012 on offer - they want runners to raise £1500.

fannybanjo · 23/11/2011 22:09

Thanks bonkers. It felt like a 4 mile hill but some reports say its 2. It's fucking no way 2!

rhet you are now fully fannified. You've said "youse"!

wheely it sounds very organised your race schedule. I don't have the patience to do that, I'm actually surprised I didn't start off with an Ultra. You will piss it though. I know these things.

I'm going to quadruple Shred.
