sorry not sue about the watch thing, I bought a cheapy off e-bay ages ago and it was a bag of plop. not what I thought it was gonna be at all. had to put my finger on it for it to read my pulse rate etc. was a waste of money.
the good ones are ££ though

i gota really good one by Polar. It was good, quite accurate but had to pay the pice for it. Was £60 and one of the cheaper ones that did this job. It was a heart rate monitor chest band, watch that picked up heart rate, kCals burned and what % of fat was burned

topsi · 22/06/2011 20:48

did it help motivate you?

melliebobs · 23/06/2011 09:12

yes and no. Sorry that doesn't help. At the time i was fitness instructor so got alot of exercise as part of my job. But i was training for a 5km race and running is one thing i couldn't do on a treadmill, let alone outside. So it was good just to see that when i was outside doing a run, how hard i was working etc. But that's all i used it for and now it's sat in a box doing nada.

lidl have inexpensive heart rate monitors in this week, just under £20 I think. OH bought one on hols from decathlon, they have a few branches in the uk, or online. His was 19 euros, again just under £20.

Think that is about the cheapest you will pay for a decent heart rate monitor. You need one with a chest strap I think, without it your heart rate won't be constantly monitored and so you won't get accurate cals burned data.
