Westminstenders: PreGrades (Minority Report comes to the UK)

RedToothBrush · 15/08/2020 19:54

In Aug 2020, London, DC's prototype 'PreGrades' launched from the education department stops plebs before they go to university, reducing the social mobility rate to zero percent. Social mobility is predicted using specialized mutated humans, called "Teachers", who "predict" grades by marking shit lots of course work and exams over a period of years. Would-be social climbers are knocked down in a computer algorithm which distorts reality and hits the disadvantaged hardest. Central government is on the verge of adopting the controversial program nationwide by applying it in all departments from the DWP, the Home Office, the Department of Health and the Department of Justice to predict benefit fraud, getting sick asylum seeking and crime before it occurs.

DC's vision of the future is based on excellence being genetically ingrained into the elite but he must sell this vision to the unsuspecting public in a series of public votes which rely on the idea of the 'undeserving'. Little do they know that they too will be the victims of this plan until a mysterious bug appears and only the wealthy and well connected are able to get hold of adequate PPE and they are no longer able to buy bog roll nor retire to Spain as they had previously and endless queues for pizza form near Kent.

Boris Johnson told reporters:
“On the issue of whether or not to wear masks in some contexts - you know, we’ll look at the the changing medical evidence as we go on. If we need to change the advice then of course we will.”

That's actually sensible

Ofqual head Sally Collier resigns over exams fuckup

Shows up the lack of responsibility & dignity from Williamson

BigChocFrenzy · 25/08/2020 17:06

Williamson tells parents not to natter at the school gate, but to
“drop their children off and then get on with all the tasks of their day”

That's about everyone told, all ready for the blame game when things go wrong

✅ Blame teachers
✅ Blame Ofqal
✅ Blame parents

I suspect this is to try and stop people talking about how shit the government is ....

If I wrote “Talk to people about how shit the government is” on my to-do list, would that make it one of my ‘tasks of the day’?

fair point. It's one of those ongoing invisible tasks, like get dressed, or have breakfast.

Have a shit

Marina Hyde on Kellyanne Conway in the WH:

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/aug/25/trumps-republicans-family-don-rnc-americans-conway

Are you familiar with the Sybil and Basil Fawlty of the post-truth era?

A top presidential adviser, Kellyanne has finished second in the White House Lying Bee four years running,
and is the only person who wears more makeup than Trump himself.

She doesn’t so much reapply as repoint. 😂

I was delighted to read the Times report of Boris’s demise as PM.

Murdoch, Cummings and Gove have obviously had enough of him.

BigChocFrenzy · 25/08/2020 20:44

BJ has partially U-turned to no longer oppose masks

so he'll complete the full U-turn within about a month to make them mandatory in secondary classrooms, or at least corridors & stairs ?

Tories are the ones attacking him on this

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/aug/25/boris-johnson-drops-advice-against-face-mask-use-in-english-schools

Pupils in England will no longer be advised against using face masks in secondary schools after Boris Johnson made an 11th-hour U-turn
days before students head back to the classroom.

In lockdown areas such as Greater Manchester, which have greater restrictions to stop the spread of the virus, wearing face coverings will become mandatory in school corridors where social distancing is more difficult.

In areas of England not subject to tighter restrictions, headteachers will have discretion over whether to require face masks,
but the government will no longer advise against their use, a senior government source PM Dom said.
...
Sir Desmond Swayne, who opposed the rule making masks in shops compulsory, questioned in a tweet whether Johnson had been “reprogrammed by aliens” if he was considering the reversal.

BigChocFrenzy · 25/08/2020 20:50

Another reason why BJ will likely be gone in about 6 months:

the hard Tory right wing are furious over his COVID policy of lockdown,
then maintaining SD measures
and now masks

His brush with death clearly convinced him of the seriousness of the virus - a frightening reality check that has affected his pov -
but too many of his hard right MPs and influential Tories in the media etc are COVID denialists & minimalists pushing the "it's a flu / cold / hoax"

BigChocFrenzy · 25/08/2020 20:51

Oh and they are also furious at the principle of furlough, a well a the cost

yoikes · 25/08/2020 20:52

In days?
My child goes back tomorrow!
What a fucking shambles!

BigChocFrenzy · 25/08/2020 20:52

as well as the cost

TatianaBis · 25/08/2020 20:53

Agreed, it’s a good time to gloat over the fact the most effective Covid responses have been in female-led countries.

None of this denialist, minimiser claptrap.

BigChocFrenzy · 25/08/2020 20:53

Have you got a mask that miniYoikes can take in ?

BigChocFrenzy · 25/08/2020 21:01

I'm certainly not gloating over the problems BJ is having with hard right Tory / libertarians over his COVID measures
The executation of these measures has been late, incompetent, cocked up by chumocracy

However, if his ideologically hard right opponents were in charge, the Social Darwinists wanting "herd immunity".
then there would have been no lockdown, no SD or masks
i.e. a horrendous carnage with multiples of the current death total

Sweden has 5-12 x the deaths / million of their very similar Scandi neighbours who locked down

Hard as it may sound, we got lucky when he got COVID
and we could suffer far worse Social Darwinism of all sorts if Cummings gets Gove in place as PM - the one he really wants for his revolution

TatianaBis · 25/08/2020 21:12

Many of the problems Boris is having with Covid measures is Boris himself. Indecision and ineptitude are his markers.

yoikes · 25/08/2020 21:45

bcf
Yeah. I got him one made with his favourite cartoon character on.
Cannot believe the incompetence of the cummings Govt.
Ffs. This is ridiculous.

Dontlickthetrolley · 25/08/2020 22:00

Who had today at 9.30pm for the uturn on face masks at schools?!

BigChocFrenzy · 25/08/2020 22:16

Not yet official - is this the final wet finger (plucked from his arse) in the wind to judge public mood

imo, U-turn doesn't count until they are officially compulsory for corridors and stairs
and compulsory or at least optional for staff & students in classroms

< starts count down ... Grin >

Pepperwort · 25/08/2020 22:17

There’s been a Covid re-infection in Belgium too. Different strains involved.

It’s like flu or cold virus except for the mortality. How we’re supposed to know which is which is puzzling me: the first thing that will happen when schools start back is that colds will start circulating.

quiteathome · 25/08/2020 22:45

I think DS already has a cold

I believe Colds have snot. Covid is snot free.

Peregrina · 25/08/2020 23:15

Well, since the rabid right of Johnson's Cabinet seem to think it's just a cold, they won't mind catching it will they? A few nice days off at home, knocking back hot toddies of honey and lemon with a tot of whisky/brandy, should be just the ticket for them.
