People are meeting at College Green (just down the way from Parliament Square) this evening at 5:30 (and on I guess)

Saturday 31st there is a protest outside Downing street at 12pm. See photo.

I'll add any more that I see. Feel free to do the same.

Anyone going to be at the protest in George Square in Glasgow at 2pm on Saturday? Planning on going to my first ever protest with my 18 year old

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/08/2019 18:04

Well done Brain and brilliant Nacreous (nice cloud name)! Without sounding totally patronising, I'm proud of both of you.

I've looked at trying to create a master list of the master lists, but it's a big job, I think it would be a nightmare to keep on top of it this time - it's not like it's one umbrella group with lots of smaller groups reporting back for just a few events as it was before.

So please keep checking links and if anyone needs to know whether there is one near them please point them in the right direction!

Turnout in Norwich was excellent: they ended up having to close the road and there were hundreds of protestors. Given there was less than 24 hours notice, I thought it was fantastic. 4 speakers and lots of excellent chanting. Just investigating the logistics of getting to London on Saturday.

Thanks OYBK.
Looking great Nacreous and Portia. Smile

Roussette · 29/08/2019 18:35

Over 1.5M signed and moving fast

woman19 · 29/08/2019 18:38

The petition is moving faster than revoke, I heard?

Worth noting that even if our protests don't get big coverage on BBC etc.

Local papers are hugely influential: always worth writing letters to local papers on this.

But also, the world's press is reporting in detail on this and is watching our protests closely.

Roussette · 29/08/2019 18:38

I wish I could come up to London and protest, I went with DCs on the Trump march but it's just impossible at the moment. Well done everyone who goes to any protest anywhere.

Peregrina · 29/08/2019 18:39

But meanwhile the BBC is reporting how people in Grays Essex are behind Johnson for standing up to Brussels. It just shows how little a significant number of Leavers really know about democracy.

woman19 · 29/08/2019 18:41

One tomorrow, outside Holyrood in Edinburgh: morning to early afternoon. (I've no exact times, sorry)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/08/2019 18:41

Wow Nacreous!!!
Well done Portia

It's such a shit reason for us to all have to mobilise, but it's heartening to see how people can come together when we need to.

I'm not sure with the petition that we can measure it against revokes rate. That one kept stalling due to too many people signing. It looks like the people who run it have increased flow capacity as the rate is steady.

I will take my trusty red toothbrush and display it on my person, as a reference to the excellent Westminstenders threads and their OP RedToothBrush.

Roussette · 29/08/2019 19:12

woman19 Yes you're right. I'm just tweeting madly and retweeting relevant stuff (and there's a lot) Smile

@OhYouBadBadKitten how can in PM in the app do you know?

Nacreous · 29/08/2019 21:14

For anyone in the East, there are protests in:

Bury At Edmunds - Hatter St at 12:30 tomorrow (30th August)

Melton near Woodbridge at 4pm Tomorrow (30th Aug)

And then also in Ipswich, at 12pm on Saturday at the Cornhill.

Does anyone know how we get this information to the lady running the Google list?

Snip from the Suffolk EU Alliance Facebook page attached.
