The "massive result for leave" was the referendum result. Turns out this pesky thing called the GFA means that was a bit trickier to deliver than advertised.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 12/04/2019 16:59

Sorry I'm not very techy and don't understand. So I I keep mentioning Nigel Farage, the Brexit Party, <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=www.thebrexitparty.com" target="_blank">http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=www.thebrexitparty.comm** near each other, that's bad? And if I mention Nigel Farage, the Brexit Party, www.thebrexitparty.comm near each other repeatedly, does that make a difference?

I'm really glad you asked that MrsTerryPratchett as I keep making the same mistake. I feel very dim but I just need to clarify, should I not be referring to Nigel Farage or the Brexit Party www.thebrexitparty.com if I also mention go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=www.thebrexitparty.com in case it causes some kind of confusion? I'm very keen to get this right.

Miljah · 12/04/2019 17:12

www.thebrexitparty.com so it would be misleading if I posted this?....

Miljah · 12/04/2019 17:21

mummy2017 If the turn out for Newport is anything to go by, I'm not expecting a "massive result for leave" in the EU elections, tbh.

mummmy2017 · 12/04/2019 17:26

I think it won't be UKIP as it is a new party being launched pro Brexit....
But will you still be happy when these will be the people objecting to everything the EU want to do...

DGRossetti · 12/04/2019 17:27

I think it won't be UKIP as it is a new party being launched pro Brexit....

Has UKIP been disbanded then ?

Miljah · 12/04/2019 17:29

The Rabid Leave vote will be split between YouKipper and Farage's latest wheeze, hasn't it?

Which is a very good thing. Let's hope they manage to field candidates everywhere to cancel each other out.

mummmy2017 · 12/04/2019 17:31

www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-politics-47907350o

NF has a lot of backing off people who voted leave ...

TalkinPaece · 12/04/2019 17:31

mummmy2017
Gerald Batten, the leader of UKIP
is very unhappy with Nigel Farage who has just formed a new party called thebrexitparty.com
and the ERG are annoyed that JRMs little sister has left the Tory Party

DGRossetti · 12/04/2019 17:32

NF has a lot of backing off people who voted leave ...

you could buy a nice website with that ....

mummmy2017 · 12/04/2019 17:35

So say all his MEP candidates get in and you revoke. So now all the decision making in the EU would be voted on by people who want to leave. Lol ...

Bit like Remain leading a leave decision here.

Yep the EU Parliament will love that..

noblegiraffe · 12/04/2019 17:37

Nigel Farage has been an MEP for years. The fucker never shows up for work so not sure why that would change if he got elected again.

That’s Nigel Farage of www.thebrexitparty.com

OP posts:
DGRossetti · 12/04/2019 17:38

So say all his MEP candidates get in

I agree, one step at a time ....

Miljah · 12/04/2019 17:46

www.thebrexitparty you say?

Must check them out.

FWIW It took ££, cunning, manipulation, dog whistle politics, a massive simplification of a complex issue condensed onto the side of a bus, a politically illiterate electorate who weren't clamouring for Brexit, Aaron Banks and Dominic Cummings to drag 'never voters' out on that fateful day.

'No-one' ever votes for the MEPs. Far too complex, with big words and stuff.

Obviously this will change, but looking at the lamentable turn out for Newport, a leave area, who've got themselves a Remain MP in government- well, it doesn't bode well for a massive turn out for Leave parties, does it?

Miljah · 12/04/2019 17:47

My link didn't work, because of course, Farage's gang are www.thebrexitparty.com aren't they?

Hope I didn't mislead anyone!

SaskiaRembrandt · 12/04/2019 18:26

I'm not sure I understand - are you all saying I shouldn't mention Nigel Farage and the Brexit Party in the same sentence as thebrexitparty.com? If so I'll make sure I never write Nigel Farage and the Brexit Party in the same sentence as thebrexitparty.com, because I wouldn't want anyone to think Nigel Farage and the Brexit party were in any way connected to thebrexitparty.com. That would be a tragedy.

TwigTheWonderKid · 12/04/2019 18:42

That's correct, Saskia because of course there is no official link between Nigel Farage and www.thebrexitparty.com and the Brexit Party so we really shouldn't mention Nigel Farage and The Brexit Party and www.thebrexitparty.com in the same sentence in case it confuses anyone. Because we defintitely would not want to add to the confusion, obviously.

Normandy144 · 12/04/2019 18:47

I may or may not have posted on Nigel farages Instagram that i think the new website www.thebrexitparty.com is great!! Maybe we all should?

TalkinPaece · 12/04/2019 18:58

I've just booked my tickets to see Jonathan Pie
I am sure that he will be delighted that Nigel Farage has set up www.thebrexitparty.com/

bellinisurge · 12/04/2019 19:04

I wonder if Nigel Farage knows http://www.thebrexitparty.com/
Grin

Twisique · 12/04/2019 19:17

I thought the Brexit Party was satire. Its all such a joke now. Anyway.

It would never have crossed my mind to put the words "Nigel Farage" adjacent to "The Brexit Party" and thebrexitparty.com/ on an internet forum. www.thebrexitparty.com/

ContinuityError · 12/04/2019 19:24

I've dealt with lots of elected UKIP representatives and I have no concerns at all about them getting some MPs, the more light that is shone on their thought processes, the better

I’m not sure I have a torch strong enough.

And Nigel Farage www.thebrexitparty.com you say?

I must look up Nigel Farage www.thebrexitparty.com it sounds interesting.

Will Arron Banks be at all interested in funding Nigel Farage www.thebrexitparty.com I wonder?

BlackeyedGruesome · 12/04/2019 19:29

I don't get it? Is it safe to click on thebrexitparty.com don't want to get a lot of far right stuff in my adverts and I am not keen on Nigel Farage' s politics.

noblegiraffe · 12/04/2019 19:31

Yes, it is absolutely safe to click on www.thebrexitparty.com especially if you are not keen on Nigel Farage’s politics.

OP posts:
bellinisurge · 12/04/2019 19:33

thebrexitparty.com was set up by Led By Donkeys because the bunch of pals, Faridge is working with weren't smart enough or quick enough to get that webaddress for themselves to protect it from misuse. And if lots of people look it up then Google are likely to prioritise it or at least offer it as a search option when people google this term.
