If you haven't signed yet, but would like to press pause on Brexit please add your name to the this petition. The numbers are large enough for it to really make a difference when MP's vote on different ways forward on Monday.

You’ve linked to the wrong petition.
Here’s the right one

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 30/03/2019 17:56

Right

dh and i have signed it

Just to stop the nagging Grin

I'll get ds1 to sign it when he gets home

onalongsabbatical · 30/03/2019 17:58

7 and a half thou to go. Bit more than a few, but should be today. But it has slowed dramatically, which I find worrying.

tenredthings · 30/03/2019 19:50

Thanks Crow !

Yes it's slowed to a dribble hence the nagging Grin

sonlypuppyfat · 30/03/2019 19:53

Let's see how many millions of foreign names are on it.. 17 million people voted for something and they've not got what they wanted

InfiniteSheldon · 30/03/2019 19:53

And nearly a million are genuine you go girl

catchingzzzeds · 30/03/2019 20:02

Done

tenredthings · 30/03/2019 20:47

Only 5500 more names needed to get to 6000000 !!! Ask your friends, neighbours anyone who feels it would be sensible to revoke article50 , press pause, and give ourselves the time needed to consider what happens next.

Bornfreebutinchains · 30/03/2019 20:55

Yes let's consider how if article 50 is cancelled we devalue our democracy.

We render every future vote on anything totally futile!

Let's imagine and pause what an amazing legacy that would be to handle to our children.

Especially as populist far right and left parties are growing faster than mushrooms in dark places all over Europe!! And one day should we remain... Their vote may need to mean a lot more than it does today!

Yes ! Pause!!

havingtochangeusernameagain · 30/03/2019 21:21

We render every future vote on anything totally futile

Hopefully we will never have a referendum ever again.

havingtochangeusernameagain · 30/03/2019 21:21

PS I think the signatures have slowed because the government said it was ignoring it.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 30/03/2019 22:53

Let's see how many millions of foreign names are on it

Do you not ever read something back and think oops...

GabrielleNelson · 30/03/2019 23:05

The electoral fraud around the referendum was so serious that if it had been an election the result would have been set aside. As far as I'm concerned that is a pretty good reason for MPs not to feel bound by the result. There is also the little matter of nobody having the first clue how to implement it.

LinoleumBlownapart · 31/03/2019 00:31

We render every future vote on anything totally futile! Or alternatively we make sure future generations are far more aware of and wary of illegal campaigns, full of lies and promises that cannot be implemented.

And

MrsTerryPratchett · 31/03/2019 02:31

Let's see how many millions of foreign names are on it..

'Foreign' names like Cabinet member Javid or Mayor Khan? Or aren't they British enough to vote? And none of this is about xenophobia or racism...

lonelyplanetmum · 31/03/2019 05:23

So some Foreign' sounding names have signed the Remain petition have they? What percentage 5%? I expect a high percentage of the six million sound Anglo Saxon. But let's face it lots of us are AngloSaxon and therefore foreign.

But...here's some names you would find signing Leave petitions. As their names sound foreign can we discount their opinion?

Farage- of Huguenot and German descent successively married to two foreigners with foreign EU names.

Ekaterina Paderina- married to Banks the largest donor to UKIP who bankrolled Nigel Farage's branch of the Leave campaign. Family Net worth reported as £100 million – £250 million . Bet she signs leave petitions.

Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson of Mixed Circassian-Turkish, USA , English and French descent.

Dominic Rennie Raab - Czech refugee father of Jewish descent.

Suella Braverman - Kenya Mauritius Goan parents.

Yaxley-Lennon also known as Tommy Robinson Andrew McMaster, Paul Harris, Wayne King. Is of EU (Irish) descent.

James Cleverly- doesn't sound foreign but Sierra Leone descent.

Adam Afriyie MP.
Shailesh Vara MP
Kwasi Alfred Addo Kwarteng MP
Rehman Chishti MP
Nus Ghani MP
Priti Patel

I'm bored of this list now -but if posters think that 'foreign surnames' don't count can we rerun the referendum please?

What’s in a name? That which we call a rose,
By any other name would smell as sweet..

for interest

Oh and 17 million people voted for something and they've not got what they wanted

Errrr well it might have helped if they'd known what they wanted surely?

We are all still probably going to suffer the best guess at what was wanted.

There has been a delay yes but only because there's been

No consensus.
No plan.
No initial risk assessments.
No detail.
No truth.

IDismyname · 31/03/2019 06:22

Bump

tenredthings · 31/03/2019 08:20

Only 3000 more votes needed to hit six million !!
In some constituencies more people have voted to revoke , stop and reflect than voted for the MP's representing them. The MP's are taking notice !

OP posts:
WinnerWinnerChickenDinner0 · 31/03/2019 08:31

Done!
Almost there

ShahOfSplosh · 31/03/2019 11:01

It's passed the 6 million!

MockerstheFeManist · 31/03/2019 11:27

The best names in Parliament are all 'foreign'

Bim Afolame
Bambos Charalambous

and my favourite

Thangam Debonnaire

MockerstheFeManist · 31/03/2019 11:28

PS:

"17 Million Voted Leave"

And 50 million did not.
