Lonelyplanetmum That's a good idea also. Is there a way we can get that going as a twitter campaign ? ( or is there one already?) 2m emails to. No 10 Would also cause a stir..

LarryGreysonsDoor · 22/03/2019 08:19

i wouldnt rely on that petition, hacking happened before, too.

The entire Leave campaign was illegal and twisted by Cambridge Analytica. I can prove that shit.

IceRebel · 22/03/2019 08:21

Finally made it over the 2.5mil mark

2,577,556 signatures as of the time I posted this.

MrPan · 22/03/2019 08:22

My email arrived overnight, from 'signing' yesterday morning.

Earlier this morning it was 2.375 mill, so it's still gathering pace.

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 22/03/2019 08:24

I don't know about it being hacked but I'm getting very impatient waiting for the email. Its been 27 hours since I 'signed' (it's not counted me yet as I have had no verification email). I've tried both my email addresses and still no email. Sad

Threewheeler1 · 22/03/2019 08:26

Yep, my email took until this morning to come after signing last night.

Itwouldtakemuchmorethanthis · 22/03/2019 08:26

I think if you would like to stay in the EU, then sign. It’s important to be part of your country and the choices made, even if your preferred option doesn’t happen. If you would like The Deal, or No Deal, find the petitions for that. Wake yourself up and join in.

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 22/03/2019 08:27

I take it all back it's literally just come through as I typed the above message.

I do wonder how many people get fed up, distracted or forget to check back after signing it. I understand the need for verification but it's likely been at the detriment of many people officially signing it.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/03/2019 08:28

That half a million in 10 hours, so not exactly shabby given it was overnight!

LarkDescending · 22/03/2019 08:28

There’s no evidence the petition is hacked. The voting distribution looked pretty credible last time I looked.

The point of a petition is not to be a proxy referendum - Leadsom and other who say it needs to get to 17m are missing the point. It’s about communicating a mood - contrary to what the PM tells the world, we are not all begging to be taken off the Brexit cliff asap. The petition has done its main job in being big eniugh to make headlines, but every additional vote on it gives confidence to those in Parliament who are trying to ensure we don’t sleepwalk to disaster.

LarkDescending · 22/03/2019 08:29

*excuse typos!

Naznina · 22/03/2019 08:29

This petition has just topped 2.5m signatories. It has been shared 3x more than signed because sharing is easier. Sign this and get others to do so - for our childrens' sake. Why should they have less opportunities than we have had.

'That half a million in 10 hours, so not exactly shabby given it was overnight!'

Even more so given it was overnight and intermittently not working properly.

MrPan · 22/03/2019 08:32

The value of the petition isn't to directly change law - it's to provide the fact there is a desire for an alternative despite the mutterings of our leaderene.

pepperpot99 · 22/03/2019 08:37

I finally managed to sign it just now. Keep trying folks. 2.7 mill.

IceRebel · 22/03/2019 08:38

Oww it's moving more quickly, the last update took about an hour, but it's jumped to 2,615,963 signatures in the last 16 minutes. Grin

keepforgettingmyusername · 22/03/2019 08:40

@ScarletBitch your username is certainly accurate. The one good thing about leaving with no deal would be watching the simpletons who demanded it suffer like the rest of us.

AnyFucker · 22/03/2019 08:41

I just got an instant confirmation

BagpussAteMyHomework · 22/03/2019 08:45

Nigel Farage on Radio 4 sayings it’s Russian bots, and claiming his own march as a huge success.

(Why is he given so much air time?).

NoWordForFluffy · 22/03/2019 08:47

Nigel Farage is a fuckwit!

Theimpossiblegirl · 22/03/2019 08:48

I heard it had been hacked because there were forrin sounding names on the petition and you know, people with forrin sounding names can't be British so must be from Russia or Afghanistan or something.

This completely backed up my opinion of the leave voters in my area. Keep signing lovely people. Share it far and be heard.

IceRebel · 22/03/2019 08:49

Nigel Farage on Radio 4 sayings it’s Russian bots

Pardon my ignorance but I was under the impression that Russia would benefit more if we left the EU, so why would they be signing a petition to support us remaining. Confused

Songsofexperience · 22/03/2019 08:51

Russian bots???
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Wheresthebeach · 22/03/2019 08:53

It may not make a difference but it our only chance to let the politicians know how we feel. Sod Farage and all his talk - his march was a fiasco.

May has lost the plot - utterly unable to listen to anyone, unable to take in others opinions or bring people with her. She sounds more like a tin pot dictator every day.

Songsofexperience · 22/03/2019 08:53

Russia wants us to leave so that they can use a deregulated UK as their big laundromat
