NabooThatsWho · 21/03/2019 14:54

Ribbonsonabox · 21/03/2019 14:54

Miljah · 21/03/2019 14:55

bot 'Everyone knows Remain was voted for by the elite and well off. '... So you can generalise but we can't?

anonymousbird · 21/03/2019 14:55

And it's back! Woo hoo!!!!

Miljah · 21/03/2019 14:56

Probably crashed because all the journos in the land were refreshing the page!

EcclesThePeacock · 21/03/2019 14:56

Apologies, that was an ill-considered off the cuff remark. Blush

RockyFlintstone · 21/03/2019 14:56

A million signatures in one day...17 million is unlikely I guess, but I only saw this last night and lots of people would be at work today, so possibly still lots of people to sign? Surely, if it continues rising they have to take notice though?

increased the antipathy, rather than trying to address the actual issues that 17m voted for

Point taken but that's what should be the aim, not randomly decreasing our chances of addressing the issues by an almightly political and financial fuck-up instead.

Ribbonsonabox · 21/03/2019 15:02

Everyone knows the leave campaign was funded and backed by some of the most wealthy people in the UK.... who played the whole anti austerity anger to thier advantage... wonder if it has anything to do with the tax evasion laws the EU are about to bring in? Hmmmm.
Yes the Leave campaign is ALL about what's best for ordinary working people......

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 21/03/2019 15:03

Undertheseainabot, please come to the March.

It's not for the "elite", it's for everybody, especially for people relying on benefits. A no Deal Brexit will make everybody's life considerably worse, there will inevitably be severe cuts to public services because tax revenue will drop as the economy sinks.

It's for all of us.

AdvancedAvoider · 21/03/2019 15:03

Checks self in mirror, looks around house, asks dog...

Nope I'm definitely not well off, comfortable possibly but not rich and I'm certainly not elite either.

I voted Remain Hmm

pepinana · 21/03/2019 15:03

Everyone knows Remain was voted for by the elite and well off

Really? It was voted for in my part of SE London, where most children are on free school meals.

ATailofTwoKitties · 21/03/2019 15:03

It's definitely an unrepresentative sample, as it only includes those with online access.

Still wow though.

Miljah · 21/03/2019 15:04

Undertheseainabot Brexit won't 'address the actual issues that 17m voted for'. It will actually make many, many of those 'issues' much, much worse. However, many of those suffering in this country never bothered to vote for anything before (thus kept getting Tory councils and MPs); never bothered to educate themselves about what the EU actually is (given that the most googled term on June 24th 2016 was 'What is the EU?'...); but brainlessly decided to 'sock it to the Man', to Austerity, to the Tories.

I cannot imagine for one second how you think crashing out of the EU will improve your life, on benefits.

pepinana · 21/03/2019 15:04

Everyone knows Remain was voted for by the elite and well off

Also, Boris Johnson, Jacob Rees Cock - they're both really down to earth and poor, aren't they?

downcasteyes · 21/03/2019 15:04

"Everyone knows Remain was voted for by the elite and well off."

Yes, just look at the paupers of the ERG. Not two pennies to rub together between them.

Has it ever occurred to you that there's a REASON why wealthy white men want you to vote Leave? Like: the deregulation of capitalism, a decrease in workers' rights? Turkey, meet Christmas.
