Westminstenders: A vote too far?

RedToothBrush · 10/12/2018 09:16

The ECJ have ruled that the UK can unilaterally revoke A50.

There maybe lots of other news today, but that's the big one.

May has her big vote tomorrow. Or does she.

Will she survive until the end of the week?

Favourite bit

Does this house want to deliver brexit?

NO!

I ❤ SNP

TatianaLarina · 10/12/2018 16:36

He hasn’t got the balls Nicola. If only you were leading Labour.

DGRossetti · 10/12/2018 16:37

What is she...a dictator??

2/3rds of the way there, by my estimate. Anyone care to speculate ?

GD12 · 10/12/2018 16:37

Yes, that's correct Isobel. I think she's trying brinkmanship with MPs but that's a very very dangerous thing to do because we'll crash out.

IsobelKarev · 10/12/2018 16:41

Yes - because for some of the DUP brinkmanship is what they have been doing for ages, and they would be pleased with a no-deal which would contravene the GFA. And the serious brexiteers don't think we need any ties to the EU so no-deal is fine by them. And an awful lot of MPs will be concerned that the WA doesn't give us the right to unilaterally withdraw, so (unlike the current situation) UK parliamentary sovereignty actually may be at risk!

Could she possibly think that with the GFA at risk the EU will back down?

ChiaraRimini · 10/12/2018 16:42

Corbyn wont back a PV, he's fundamentally anti Europe

GD12 · 10/12/2018 16:44

^^^Absolutely.

GrabEmByThePatriarchy · 10/12/2018 16:45

Pretty much

howabout · 10/12/2018 16:45

All the Labour MPs blaming the ERG for blocking the deal should be careful - TM wouldn't be in trouble if Labour supported her deal - looks like rank hypocrisy. Sad

howabout · 10/12/2018 16:48

Also don't understand continuing to push PV - just creates more uncertainty and political jeopardy.

U-turn and Remain / Hard Brexit choice for TM. Labour choose a side and have a GE surely.

Somerville · 10/12/2018 16:49

A day ago I thought the only strong chance of no deal was if May was ousted and a Brexiteer Tory took over. Now it looks like May will take us there. Shock
Fucking hell what is happening to this country???

TatianaLarina · 10/12/2018 16:51

Yep.

TatianaLarina · 10/12/2018 16:53

It’s a massive risk and imo Parliament needs to fight this out themselves. Even if they all go down in a shoot out.

DGRossetti · 10/12/2018 16:54

Could she possibly think that with the GFA at risk the EU will back down?

And the UN ? Isn't the GFA their concern too ?

plaidlife · 10/12/2018 16:56

Is it only Labour as the opposition that can table a vote of no confidence? I understand it wouldn't pass without Labour and actually not with them either but May is behaving in a very totalitarian way with no consequences at present.

bellinisurge · 10/12/2018 17:00

She's playing brinkmanship with them.

Holidayshopping · 10/12/2018 17:01

What does that tweet say, I just get an error message?

GD12 · 10/12/2018 17:02

This is scary...

Somerville · 10/12/2018 17:02

Anyone else anticipating poll-tax-level-protests once this sinks in? This government is clearly causing immense damage to the country in an attempt to stay in perseonal power. It's horrifying.

GD12 · 10/12/2018 17:02

Holiday, pretty much what Yvette Cooper has caught on to.

DGRossetti · 10/12/2018 17:04

This is what happens when dweebs trust cretins lead by morons, I fear.

nomorearsingmermaids · 10/12/2018 17:05

Why has a vote of no confidence not been called in the government?

GD12 · 10/12/2018 17:06

It'd fail nomore.

placemats · 10/12/2018 17:07

What the actual fuck is going on?

The vote suspended until when exactly?

Has it actually come to this that Corbyn would be better serving the nation in power? FECKING HELL! I say that as someone who has never voted anything else other than Labour. And who voted REMAIN.

Corbyn is as much a quisling as May.
