So if today is the day it’s finally acknowledged we are getting BINO

What is the fucking point?

Two and a half years they’ve had.

No deal is better than a bad deal they said.

We will not remain in a customs union they said.

No government could accept NI being treated differently to rUK they said.

All lies.

And for what.

We will have a worse deal than we did before with much less sovereignty.

As I’ve read elsewhere, this will unite the country......in thinking this is the worst of every world.

Really angry today.

Yes! But let's find out what it actually says first.

WillChellam · 14/11/2018 06:18

If only one of the campaigning parties had pointed all of this out prior to the referrendum....

oh, wait!

if only more of the media had reported it, and more of the populace had bothered to listen.

bellinisurge · 14/11/2018 06:21

Both utterly bored and fascinated.

Kewqueue · 14/11/2018 06:31

Of course Boris is against it but has he come up with a workable alternative?

What is the point?

Well we are on the path to becoming more humble, the pound falling, many businesses leaving, less of a global leader in financial services, dropped our world economic ranking from 5 th to 7 th etc. So that may be a 'positive' result albeit an unintended one. Humility is probably a lesson we needed.

We are still waiting to see the detail but assuming we are out of the single market ( not sure about NI) it means our workforce will change. I guess we will swap more of our needed workers in NHS etc exchanging EU ones for non EU ones. I am guessing the Poles, Romanians etc will be replaced with those from India,Pakistan,Bangladesh, South Africa, China based on current statistics -but removing those from the EU.

So I guess that's a sort of point of all this? My only comment would be that all the studies show that the EU migrants statistically contribute more than they take out to a significant extent. Non EU migrants statistically contribute less than EU but still bring a benefit.

Trying to be positive, assuming we still do have work there will be some individual immigrant families who may now benefit who would not otherwise have done so perhaps ? I'm trying to find positives here, as it looks like this is what we're getting -assuming it doesn't get rejected in the H o C.

bellinisurge · 14/11/2018 06:55

How long before Faridge and his tosser friends start campaigning again?

PersonaNonGarter · 14/11/2018 06:57

BINO is better than so much else: mainly, endless fucking Brexit.

And I voted for Brexit.

UrsulaPandress · 14/11/2018 06:59

What a fucking shambles.

There is no excellence in this country anymore.

Kewqueue · 14/11/2018 07:05

We will not remain in a customs union they said
That's not actually true. BEFORE the referendum Leave campaigners frequently said we wouldn't leave the customs union...and others said we would...so nobody actually knew what they were voting for.

BINO is better than so much else: mainly, endless fucking Brexit.

I think there is no escape from endless fucking Brexit. This is going to loom over British politics for years.

Bearbehind · 14/11/2018 07:19

It's one rule for NI and another for the rest of us.

I’m not sure. I’ve read it’s SM/CU for NI and CU for rUK

Fuck knows how that’s going to work!

Assuming BiNO = Brexit in name only??

I could barely watch the news last night as every statement made me so angry.

Angry about the lies that seemingly are the norm now (Tangent but had just watched a load of Trump stuff too Angry)

Angry about all the issues that have and will be ignored whilst we fuck about with Brexit for a few more years.

Angry about the colossal waste of money

Angry about the lack of any seeming benefit to anyone.

But most of all, angry that individuals fucking grandstanding and 'politicking' have driven this process into the ground.

When article 50 was invoked, the politicians should have acknowledged the huge responsibility and gravitas of the situation to form some kind of 'cross party cabinet' that was in charge of negotiations / planning. At least that way, we could have had a focus on the country during the most life changing event (hopefully - I don't want anything worse than this to happen!) in our lifetime.

But no, instead we've ended up with power hungry - rich, middle class white people all scoring points of each other and more worried about the 'optics' on their individual careers than the final outcome.

Absolute fucking shambles.

Agree with motherofdragons a decade (at least ) of our civil servants time, and a shed-load of money, spent negotiating back to a position that is worse than the one we were in before.

InfiniteSheldon · 14/11/2018 07:30

Agreeing with you as well Bear good job I'm still lying down

FishesaPlenty · 14/11/2018 07:38

assuming it doesn't get rejected in the H o C.

You don't think that's the whole point of it then?

The whole process has been like a game of pass the parcel, except nobody wants to be the one unwrapping the final (Remain) prize - the one wrapped in the 'Enemies of the People' Daily Mail front page.

It's all still going to plan as far as I can see.

1tisILeClerc · 14/11/2018 07:52

{There is no excellence in this country anymore.}
The UK excelled at many things, particularly science and medical technology.
The government, particularly the ERG element have completely 'stuffed' that and everyone is going to suffer.
There is a good chance that the 'top brains' of technology will simply move to Europe or elsewhere as in the UK unless some important deals are done there will be little investment within the UK and added regulatory issues.

Safely cushioned from the impact of the country becoming poorer.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 14/11/2018 08:10

Well, what did you expect when you voted for Brexit?

Rivers of milk and honey?

rainbowquack · 14/11/2018 08:13

@ChardonnaysPrettySister I think that it what people did expect though. I am still hearing project fear a lot, so I have just shut up.

Let's see what happens.

Hedgehogblues · 14/11/2018 08:15
