What is the fucking point?

Two and a half years they’ve had.

No deal is better than a bad deal they said.

We will not remain in a customs union they said.

No government could accept NI being treated differently to rUK they said.

All lies.

And for what.

We will have a worse deal than we did before with much less sovereignty.

As I’ve read elsewhere, this will unite the country......in thinking this is the worst of every world.

Really angry today.

And in the meantime businesses and Eu citizens all fuck off because the uncertainty is endless. Yay!

Thegirlinthefireplace · 14/11/2018 13:33

Sorry but I'm so bloody cross, it's been building for nearly 2.5 years

drivinmecrazy · 14/11/2018 13:56

It's all so bloody hopeless . I find ithe incredible that it has come to a point of accept a crap deal with no upside (unless you're in NI) or a terrifying no deal. Un-fucking-believable.
I think the tension is now palpable. I'm hoping against hope that some cabinet ministers have the balls to stand by their conviction but sadly we know they won't.
Same with the H of C.
It very much feels like the calm before the storm. I wonder if when the document is released and reality kicks in there will be real unrest.
A truly sad and divisive day Sad

Figmentofmyimagination · 14/11/2018 14:17

We’re all losers now.

AutumnCrow · 14/11/2018 17:12

Penny Mordaunt is as responsible for this as Boris J. and the PM.

Pointless, venal ambition, played in in full public view.

bellinisurge · 14/11/2018 17:23

@Thegirlinthefireplace - can I suggest you consider a modicum of prepping so that at least you can have a tad more confidence that you and your household can ride out any shit.
No tin foil hat. No camouflage gear. More like homesteading UK style.
Yes, I'm fecking livid that I even have to think of it but it helps me feel like I have a touch more control over my situation.
Imagine being snowed in for three days and what you might need. Don't go mad buying shit no one eats. Don't freak out. Loads of sensible ideas on here.
Or not. Obviously up to you.

RedneckStumpy · 14/11/2018 18:42

The whole process has been like a game of pass the parcel, except nobody wants to be the one unwrapping the final (Remain) prize

It’s more like pass the parcel with a letter bomb

twofingerstoEverything · 14/11/2018 19:13

Agreeing with you as well Bear
Why are you agreeing with Bear, Sheldon? This is what you voted for. Own it.

Staringcoat · 14/11/2018 19:15

And if you listen to Gove, I fear the parcel-passing will continue way beyond the WA (if WA goes ahead) and interim period, when they fudge a deal in order to leave and then thereafter renege on any agreements made.

Bearbehind · 14/11/2018 20:26

Have I got this right - hasn’t TM just lost the support of the DUP with her backstop agreement so is now a minority’s government?

Yes that’s what it looks like. I can’t get my head round all this at all.

Glad it’s hump day and I can have 🍷

jasjas1973 · 14/11/2018 20:37

I found it very interesting she said "this deal, no-deal or no brexit"

to my knowledge, this is the first time she has even mentioned a no brexit possibility, how ever slim

Bearbehind · 14/11/2018 20:40

Agreed jas.

No Brexit has never been mentioned before.

Given her dumbing down and managing expectations of Leavers maybe staying is still a possibility.........

Bearbehind · 14/11/2018 20:41

Lol! CNN just said exactly the same thing jas 😂

jasjas1973 · 14/11/2018 20:46

...i'm also a reporter for CNN lol!

bellinisurge · 14/11/2018 21:21

William Hague said something similar on R4 this morning- if you don't back this the alternative isn't just "no deal", it might be "no Brexit ".

rainbowquack · 14/11/2018 21:35

I am loving the DM comments today. After 2 years of 'you lost', 'that's democracy' blah blah blah, the penny seems to have dropped that a representative democracy is not a true democracy and that one person still has the power to make decisions according to how she sees fit.

Cue 'this isn't democracy', 'leave means leave' etc etc.

If only all this had been explained in the beginning... oh wait...

Idiots.

rainbowquack · 14/11/2018 21:35

But, I still think that conservatives will back TM for fear of losing power.

Let's see...
