So in the spirit of sharing our deluded brexiteer cheerfulness, heres a round up of some of this weeks good news.

And in the week that saw the interest rate rise, the Bank of England said gloomily "as migration tightens, we will see wage growth". Note the 'we will'. Smile

Excellent. All this whilst the media obsess over impotent politicians as Britain works.

Rumour has it, some remainers are a little glum.....

Lord Dyson has received a bit of backlash today for yesterdays interview, so in the spirit of cheeriness, Im urged to repost details of his University. (Plus the BBC simply refuse to even acknowledge it exists).

Lord Dyson???? Blimey, what these retired judges get up to, eh!!!

Carolinesbeanies · 15/11/2017 00:18

Zdravstvute! GrinGrinGrin

Just picked this up today too, blue eyed boy Macron is really having a mare at the moment. Not so much on the cheery register, but hugely significant. Actually it is cheery, he was so anti-uk (though allegedly 'softened' when he got into power).

What has Mugabe got to do with Brexit?
Do you think Remainers love him or something?
Weird.

themueslicamel · 15/11/2017 09:46

Shhhh, not weird, I think that comment is a general Brucie bonus of good news that can give us all a further spring in our step.

Carolinesbeanies · 15/11/2017 10:46

as it should muesli. Absolutely.

Just in other broader news,

France is setting a legal age for consent. Whoop! modern democracy at work.....in 2017.....

I am a tad confused at the current Russia interferance rhetoric. Just when I'd accepted I voted because Im a raging racist, Im now told Im Russian. Having a slight identity crisis today. But lets stay cheery.Smile

Animated debate continues regards our 'brexit date' amendment. Thought it may be timely, to just remind us cheery folk what Barnier did earlier this year. With great forethought, Barnier anticipated this current round of farcical behaviour in UK politics.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/apr/07/michel-barnier-eu-red-line-theresa-may-article-50-brussels

and Jacob Rees Mogg, who is never going to apologise for being posh, is battling on getting the message out, importantly, ahead of Hammonds budget next week.

The Property Wire reported again yesterday, latest data on commercial demand. The claimed London exodus is clearly taking hold...not.

More related to the passporting howabout.

and the Times are airing some common sense this morning which is cheery. (I have to caveat this one, its paywalled so Ive not read it. But in the spirit that The Guardian can write 3 small paras to generate a clickbait headline....Im following suit. If its shit let me know GrinGrinGrin

ONS released latest unemployment stats. Its cheery, and still heading in the right direction.

Op, your slightly hysterical tone is fascinating.

themueslicamel · 15/11/2017 11:34

This is a great thread OP,

Thought provoking, entertaining and non shouty.

Long may it continue.

I will update you on how lunch with John Redwood went at some point🤔🤗

GhostofFrankGrimes · 15/11/2017 11:41

Is selling arms to Saudi and Turkey classed as good news to?

Carolinesbeanies · 15/11/2017 15:09

Facts4eu, are utterly selflessly sitting through the hours and hours of parliamentary debate. (Having personally, quite painfully, sat through the BBCs Scrutiny Committee last week, I have a new found respect for anyone subjecting themselves to this endless torture). Its an area to watch for highlighting some key speakers. Lord William Cash, 32 years on the EU scrutiny committee, as highlighted by facts4eu, is certainly worth a cheery look at from yesterday.

German Chambers of Industry warn a cliff-edge "no deal" Brexit would result in €2.35bn in tariffs alone for Germany's car industry, irrespective of the damage it would do to sales"

Been waiting for an english translation, but its not going to happen, so German readers this way. Now not apparently cheery on the face of it, tariffs never are, for anyone, but my cheeriness is that sensible voices are now being heard.

https://www.welt.de/wirtschaft/article170551425/No-Deal-Brexit-wird-fuer-Deutschland-zum-Milliardenrisiko.html

and a mildly amusing moment that would be a shame to lose under the radar, hence my post now. The EU are claiming 10 of the worlds top 50 Uni's are in the EU. Whoopeeee! Shame for the EU 7 of those are in the UK..... Is that , leaves 3? Out of 50? Blush

I count 9 out of 10 - Cambridge, Oxford, UCL, Imperial, Edinburgh, Kings, Manchester, LSE, and Bristol. Paris at number 43 is the only non-UK one.

(although imo Glasgow beats them all, especially Edinburgh). Grin

Peregrina · 15/11/2017 17:08

ETH Zurich is No 10.

shhhfastasleep · 15/11/2017 17:12

Given that a lot of university research are interdependent with EU unis and institutions, maybe they are pissed off about it getting pulled. Luckily Westminster is notorious for funding and supporting universities so they should all be cheery cheery.

howabout · 15/11/2017 17:21

Zurich is not in the EU Peregrina Cake

DD1 was playing top trumps with me as she is US dual National and gets to add 19 to her tally. Surprised to see how many are in Australia (5) and Hong Kong (4).

Just to save any confusion for the researchers at Edinburgh Uni I am not a Russian bot either. Grin
