I was thinking about how I could sum up the general election campaign and well. This said it all.

Just saying to dh that 2 years ago we'd have been delighted at 34 for the SNP

I think there is going to be a London Bloodbath. Kensington being on the list of toss ups is interesting. It was 31% leave. Watch out for the Cities of London and Westminster too. It is looking borderline on YouGov.

I think JC could win 400 seats and still some would call him unelectable

I think whatever happens we SHOULD get a softer approach to Brexit in terms of tone. Unless those exit polls are ridiculously out. Someone has to start healing wounds.

pretty Large SNP losses were to be expected as soon as we saw this GE had turned back the clock to 2-party politics.
A hung parliament / precarious Tory govt is actually best for the Union, because there won't be 5 years of Tory policies imposed, increasing anger against Westminster.
Maybe it will all dial back to wanting Devo Max

However, I expect exit polls to have the least accuracy in the 3 smaller countries. So 34 may go up / down a lot more than seats in England

Would the chance of now influencing Brexit get Sinn Fein to take up their seats joining an anti Tory alliance? Or is that something they can never go back on?

Last time. Out by 20. Underestimated Cons.

DH and I are still girding ourselves for a Tory majority, but I am still bouncing with joy. Even if the polls are wrong by a big margin it is still going to be a disaster for May and the Tories will no longer be able to carry on as if they are the only option.
