That's all. Pop over and sit down quietly if you like.

Thanks woman. Tea is such a great restorative.

woman12345 · 15/03/2017 22:18

revolutionary quiet tea Smile

woman12345 · 15/03/2017 22:20

I meant:
we're doing quiet tea-sipping resistance Blush no revolutions here, too noisy.

"The terrible thing is that perhaps for the first time in our lives we have no functioning opposition in Parliament - I agree, but should we be turning to the <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=www.libdems.org.uk/" target="_blank">Lib Dems? Serious thought. Does anyone think they might be able to throw a calming spanner into all this?"

Yes, and yes.

smashedinductionhob · 15/03/2017 22:31

My breathing pattern sort of released whilst being here. Sort of slowed.

I expect that's good.

Hello, I want things to be like when the London Olympics was on. Can we go back to then and pretend none of this happened?

ThoraGruntwhistle · 15/03/2017 22:34

SadSadSad
The will of the people....Apparently we don't count as 'the people' anymore. There is absolutely no opposition trying to stop TM and her cronies. This revolting government is systemically destroying the NHS and the education system and people are still going to vote them back in next time.
Sad

smashedinductionhob · 15/03/2017 22:56

The feeling safe. The idea that if you keep Everyone safe, you'll be safe too.

The loss of that.

It deserves acknowledgment.

Night all.

Im finding smashed quite hypnotic

PoundlandUK · 15/03/2017 23:00

Good night smash, goodnight all.

TheWoodlander · 15/03/2017 23:05

Oh my goodness, the Olympics. Only a few short years ago, and yet everything's changed.

I felt very patriotic then. Watching the opening ceremony celebrating our history. Our humour. The NHS. Tim Berners-Lee. Queenie parachuting in.

I would never have imagined things could go so awful.

woman12345 · 16/03/2017 07:27

Hi everyone, today is a good day, democracy wins Dutch elections and US travel ban suspended. Spring has sprung.

TheElementsSong · 16/03/2017 07:46

Thank you lovely Dutch people for seeing sense! Flowers

fakenamefornow · 16/03/2017 07:48

Yes, good news from Europe, very glad they're not following us. Just such a shame our children won't have the opportunity to leave this country and live in a nicer place so easily.

smashedinductionhob · 16/03/2017 08:03

I'll open the curtains a bit.

I always liked Thursdays.

Had a book called "The Storks Fly Home."

That was about Holland.

The children wait for the storks each year

One year the storks come but their nest has been destroyed and the war comes

The storks fly south to escape.

Eventually they come back.

Can I join you in the corner? I'm tired of being so angry all the time. I keep trying to count my blessings, but I know things will never be the same. Is this what heartbreak feels like (don't know - still married to my first true love)?

Before it happened, there was a child-like innocence of feeling at home, feeling I belonged. I've grown up a bit now, and I don't like it that much.

smashedinductionhob · 16/03/2017 10:30

I keep telling myself that the current situation is like a cancer which was growing away and now we know it's there it needs to be cut out. We have to keep up the fight, and not lose heart.
