Who has said this? The years leading up to following the financial crisis have been an utter disgrace in terms of allowing inequality to flourish before and imposing austerity for ideological reasons afterwards. But that was down to UK government policy, nothing to do with the EU, and if that austerity disgusted you, just wait till you see what it looks like with the severely reduced tax take that is bound to result from hard Brexit, delivered by a Tory party that has moved so far to the right since the vote many of its policies are indistinguishable from UKIP's.

I understand that Lexiters think they are taking a long view with their position, but they seem to be willing to condemn people to an astonishing degree of suffering in the mean time.
