time4chocolate · 05/11/2016 22:21

Don't take in personally rainy - we all had a late one last night. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow Smile.

WinchesterWoman · 05/11/2016 22:22

Corcoran I totally get that - strange that 'must have a vote on whether' has morphed into 'must have a debate and legislation on how'

I think they think we won't notice

WinchesterWoman · 05/11/2016 22:23

Night rainy
Wink

autumnintheair · 05/11/2016 22:24

I wonder what they make of all the black & Asian people who voted leave?

I wonder this too but I saw a live TV debate with black lady, a writer taking on Anna Sourberry (sp) and Anna totally poo poohing her and ignoring her. Was V frustrating to watch.
Rainy I think the later too.

WinchesterWoman · 05/11/2016 22:43

Dreda say Mitchell I think - C4 had her up against will self who was dripping disdain - he could barely look at her. Really showed the snobbish left to a T. They like their minorities and poor people to be dependant victims - it's what judge Clarence brown in the US calls 'dislike of the uppity black'

WinchesterWoman · 05/11/2016 22:47

Apologies the judge is Clarence Thomas ; and his quote is 'uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves'.

autumnintheair · 05/11/2016 22:54

yes that's right, she made excellent points about how her life and those of the community she lived in affected her in fact at one point she was almost screaming at the abhorrent and seemingly drunk " sourberry" don't you bloody well tell me what life is like etc..brixton, I am brixton etc....or something like it. But sourberry didnt engage with her and kept saying ....noooo. nooo. noooo dear...no

autumnintheair · 05/11/2016 22:55

how being in the EU has affected her life

MangoMoon · 05/11/2016 22:56

Really showed the snobbish left to a T. They like their minorities and poor people to be dependant victims

Yep - absolutely.
You see this on mn All. The. Time.

autumnintheair · 05/11/2016 23:01

OH yes the Times I have posted " EU the white fortress" and been met with - nothing.

The UK is a very liberal place compared with many EU countries - and we simply cannot compare with the eastern bloc countries.

This is though the great irony, where I live we have a mixed road of people from many different ethnicity and we have people with LD all happily living along side each other until...several lodging houses got mainly EU residents in, and I am afraid, things took a nasty turn.

StripeyMonkey1 · 05/11/2016 23:06

Late entry from me surferjet and apologies for that.

I do like the new thread title Grin. Mumsnet in all its forms remains vastly superior to the Daily Mail.

Marmitelover55 · 06/11/2016 00:37

Well with regard to the vote MP's will make, seems like JC had just thrown a spanner in the Wrexit works. Labour MP's will vote against wrexit unless there is guaranteed access to the single market for British industry. Wrexit lite me thinks.

Marmitelover55 · 06/11/2016 00:39

Have to say I nearly fell off my bar stool but looks like labour might finally have s bit of a plan. Shame TM doesn't seem to.

BoredofBrexit · 06/11/2016 01:02

And how on earth can that be guaranteed when nogotiations won't even have started?Confused

WinchesterWoman · 06/11/2016 01:04

Labour MPs will vote against ...So they listen to a party whip before the people of the uk? ThAt's quite an admission

Cxc78 · 06/11/2016 03:02

Good circle jerk?

WinchesterWoman · 06/11/2016 07:16

Sad news to report. People have started posting pie charts on the gloat threads to prove why leavers are wrong. It's as if the last four months didny happen.

WinchesterWoman · 06/11/2016 07:44

Access to the single market is quite easy isn't it? Membership is the one that comes with a too high price tag

Bearbehind · 06/11/2016 08:27

Correct me if I'm wrong but I really don't think there is any way shape or form in the statement - Parliament should vote on the enacting of Article 50- anything saying that 'but before the vote you can also decide what type of Brexit we want'. The debate as far as I can see is about enacting Article 50, nothing else

cocory for me this sums up the problem between what leavers and Remainers want to happen now

Leavers- invoke a50- leave EU - simples

Remainers - work out the least damaging way of leaving the EU then invoke A50- very, very complex.

The ruling means there will need to be a plan before we pull the pin out of the A50 grenade.

MangoMoon · 06/11/2016 08:36

So JC wants Labour whipped to vote against Brexit at this time.

But I thought the ruling was^:

"About parliamentary sovereignty - nothing at all to do with subverting Brexit..."^

So - were the Remainers being
ShockdisingenuousShock when they were insisting they 'just couldn't understand why Leavers were getting such a bee in their bonnet about it all'.

InfiniteSheldon · 06/11/2016 08:38

Remainers - work out the least damaging way of leaving the EU then invoke A50- very, very complex

You are right Bear we start from very different points but we can't work out the way til A50 is invoked that's the point it starts negotiations, any plans made before are actually worth Jack Shit as there can be no guarantees. And any way of Leaving the EU is safer and better than staying in. All trade negotiations are complex doesn't stop us holding them. That statement is just more Project Fear.
