It would have to be ratified by all 28 states (soon to be 27) and that won't ever happen.

The countries that are outraged can block it too. They have a veto.

Lets be clear if it does happen it will be with the full backing of the union.

Well of course! But that's the EU for you. A spectacular waste of money.

It has seemed for a long time that the EU are trying to take over the world. Much the way Great Britain did when Queen Victoria was around oh so many years ago. Just the way Germany did. The difference here is that the EU isn't going to war with anyone who refuses, and that is the extremely important part.

It doesn't matter if the EU create their super state, eventually they'll get too big for their boots and crumble, just the way the British empire did, just the way Germany did, and every other country that's attempted the undertaking.

We just all have to pray that it doesn't come to war before that happens.

I doubt the veracity of the Express's claims.

It doesn't matter what proportion want it or don't want it.

When it comes to security and defence, the decision has to be unanimous. If one member state, even a tiny one like Luxembourg, says no, then it doesn't happen.
