grammar schools. and the point is?

im fed up hearing recently about such and such has got a place at the local grammar school. our local comp is an excellent school but when people get places at the grammar they start to dis the comp. its pi**ing me off.
(may have spelt grammar wrong so await tirade of verbals)

RustyBear, I think Kent is the only county where most children take the 11+, although there are some pockets of the county which don't have it. Apart from that, I think Essex and Lincolnshire may have the most.

I'm interested to see if the recent ruling in Rugby will be extended to other counties, as it will stop grammar schools becoming super selective if they are forced to recruit local children from within their county boundaries.

Although I think both grammars and independents are unfair.

Bucks is a full 11+ county afaik.
