Awaiting Brit School Response

I can see there are old threads but thought I'd start a new one for current applications - can't believe we haven't heard at all from Brit School in response to application, do they really leave the kids wondering all over Christmas.
Anyone else been given an audition date yet please? Or been declined going through to the audition stage?

Which course has your DC applied for? My DC has an audition on 19th Dec for sixth form musical theatre.

Incredibly within a couple of hours of my original post, we did actually hear and have been offered an audition date in early January for the music strand applied for.
Hope it goes well on 19th for your DC !...exciting!

My DC also applied for the music strand at Brit - haven’t heard anything back yet so assuming it’s a no! Thankfully DC has an audition coming up for ELAM 🤞. Wishing all the kids much luck!

Good luck to your DC for ELAM, there's still a chance for Brit, as maybe they send the messages out in batches for different audition dates.
I'm sure they will all do well and love wherever they end up, doing what they love doing.

Sorry to jump on the same thread, but I wonder if anyone following would know this - we submitted my DD's application to the IDD strand and are waiting for a link to a portfolio upload, which hasn't come through - does anyone know how long that takes to be sent? I'm a little worried as I thought it would be pretty much straight away....

Has anyone's DC who auditioned for sixth form musical theatre in December been offered a taster day? I didn't think there was a second round audition? The email says, The second round is designed to give applicants a taste of a typical musical theatre strand day, and for the staff to further assess your suitability for the course.
Was this the same as last year? Is this offered to everyone? Any advice would be appreciated as we weren't told there was another round for MT.

Yes @Mumster40 my DC has been offered a second round for MT sixth form. Had no idea either that there was a second round and if this is the same for everyone.

I doubt that very much @Mumster40 but thought maybe they have given a straight yes to some and re-auditioning those that they are still unsure about and maybe said no to some others. Am pretty sure we will be left in the dark and just have to roll with the process. Well done to your DC too.

Hi @Mumster40 that's interesting & helpful to know, that there could be a 3rd option rather than just a yes or no. Congratulations for being offered a taster day. My dd auditioned 8th Jan for MT sixth form. Obviously not heard anything yet. We are out of catchment so I highly doubt we'll get through, but dd was determined to try. :-)

Hi @bettyboom2759, I wondered if you'd heard anything yet as it's been nearly 4 weeks, my daughter also applied for that same course and it's become an obsession to constantly check for an email from them. I as far as I understand, I don't think there is another audition, just an offer, rejection or placement on a reserve list.

We haven't heard anything and I am also obsessively checking emails too 😂. It will be 4 weeks on the 8/9 Feb, so I guess we will hear soon, as they say 4 weeks until you hear apparently.
My daughter has been offered a place at Access Creative College in London to do the same course, but waiting on Brit. Funnily enough one of the Mums I was talking to at Brit, while our daughters were in the audition mentioned Access Creative College, and we really liked it, very modern, state of the art, based in Central London and lots of links with the music industry and festivals and some recent successes with students and of course Ed Sheeran went there. But of course it doesn't have the name or prestige of Brit.

Same boat! We did the music audition on 7th January - constantly waiting. Seems like auditions are still going on so not sure how it all pans out. Best of luck to those waiting!
