Comprehensive in Madchester too (hello Twig - where were you then?), followed by BA at decent red-brick and MA from London. Also did fairly high grade music exams (got Grade 7, just).

Dh comprehensive also, then BA from former Poly.

Both earn OKish salaries, although I'm p/t.

2shoes - Howard is possibly where our dcs will go!!

I went to the local co ed comp. Biggish school, with loads of streaming and setting. In a large predominently council area. Had its own sixth form.

I went on to do a BEd (hons) degree at Manchester Met.

hulababy · 13/11/2006 12:20

DH also went to co ed comp, but in a better area. Much smaller school. No sixtj form - he came to the one at my school. Was were we met.

He went on to do Law at Nottingham Trent. Now a solicitor, doing pretty well

CountessDracula · 13/11/2006 12:20

beckybrastraps · 13/11/2006 12:21

Imperial College

silverbirch · 13/11/2006 12:24

State - girls grammar school (pre-comprehensive in our area) then mixed 6th form college - 4 'A's at A level, 1st class hons in Physics, PhD...

Dh also state educated - mixed comp - also 1st class hons degree and PhD.

So I guess state worked for us.
