@Eyelashesoffire sorry to hear that ypur instinct was correct in this case. Good that you know the truth - it's such a deceitful illness.

@Eyelashesoffire sorry to hear that, but at least you found out she’s not ready (yet).
@summertimesadness24 how has it been after yesterday’s hospital visit?

summertimesadness24 · 12/01/2024 18:23

@NotAllGood

she's ok, she's had two meals where I've forced her to eat last night and this morning and she did - her bloods are back and are abnormal as suspected

I have some folic acid tablets left over when I lost 2l of blood when I had my baby and I had very low folate just like my daughters levels and I felt horrendous! So I'm giving her mine from tonight until I can confirm this with a doctor - sure it will help her and can't hurt! From what I've googled 5mg is the recommended amount

I've posted her bloods

Summer honestly I think your dd needs admission for refeeding, have you spoken to the ED team today? Refeeding syndrome can be fatal if not done carefully with medical supervision. Have they worked out your dds wfh (weight for height)? Has she had an ecg?

Those bloods suggest her body is really struggling, afaik there are no Drs on this thread so you need to discuss those results with a Dr.

There's no appointments until 15th feb?! So I went in and asked for a print out
Her appointment at the clinic isn't until 18th

I think we may be about to run out of space. I've created a thread and will try to post the link below (having some technical issues!)

I am so over this ED! Dd13 is not at school at the moment as we still need to supervise her 3 meals and 3 snacks and also have countless appointments so I’m just overwhelmed by it all. Met the eating disorders psychologist last week. Hospital gave us a strict eating plan and the number of snacks on the list that she just refuses to touch is challenging in terms of managing the requirements . Credit where credit is due, I did manage to convince her to agree to 2 new things from the list and she had one or them for supper last night(evening snack). How to others deal with this as I’m really starting to struggle with it all.
