We maybe starting our egg donation treatment (first time) July/August and I thought maybe there’s anyone here that would like to join me. Ive found this forum very useful and supportive and thought I would reach out as I cannot believe it is so soon and getting a bit nervous. We had a year of rollercoaster of trying for many years to being finally told my amh is too low and I wouldn’t qualify for IVF. We did our research and found DCN very useful and are really excited about it.

Hi all, sorry to have checked in once then disappeared, hope everyone is doing ok?
My drugs are being delivered on Friday so I just need AF to turn up so I can start counting down to start injections. She’s 2 days late now but feels like either today or tomorrow.

Cleozeta · 17/08/2020 18:36

@Pingupp thanks!

@ksusha20 I agree, educating when young would be a massive benefit. Young people think their fertility will last forever, I know I did. More needs to be taught about fertility and menopause etc. It's so taboo, it becomes an unknown, then comes as a shock when the inevitable happens.

@Sunbird24 exciting times, good luck!

As for me, had my scan today, all looking good, so process has started. Just got the call that all 6 eggs have defrosted successfully, and been injected with husbands swimmers. Now waiting for tomorrow's call to see how they have progressed and when we can transfer. Eek!

Sunbird24 · 17/08/2020 19:00

@Cleozeta well done on a top defrost! Hope you get good news tomorrow too!

Leala20 · 17/08/2020 19:08

@ksusha20 totally agree with you. Cleozeta and I had a chat about this before. Had we known what we know now, it’s not fair in this age of information this is still not so readily available and part of education.

@Cleozeta congratulations! That’s above the average! Hope you’re guys enjoying the moment with excitement:)
@Sunbird24 welcome and you’re so close as well!
I had my tests done and have another appointment next week so hopefully then will know if I can do September cycle.

Just got the update that all 6 have fertilised.
Good start!
Transfer is Saturday

Pingupp · 18/08/2020 11:09

@Leala20 I agree too. I had no idea about egg quality and quantity that changes with age. I could have frozen them when I was waiting for Mr Right who appeared too late... anyway currently I think 11dpo and trying not to get hopes up as having cramps and backache .... not had a period since Dec so forgot what the lead up to a period is like!! It would be a miracle!
If not - dust myself off and wait for a lovely donor x
@Cleozeta - fab news!!!

Russkispy · 18/08/2020 17:41

@Cleozeta great news! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 for Saturday!

Leala20 · 18/08/2020 19:24

Hi ladies,

Just read all the drugs that I will need to take/ inject when the time comes. Wow - there is a lot. Or at least it looks a lot!
Do you know if the side effects are ok.
Just trying to prepare myself for what is in store.

Xx

ksusha20 · 19/08/2020 14:54

@ Pingupp what list of drugs did they give you?
There should not be that many : only to have your lining growing and then 5 days before transfer start progesterone.
At least that is from my experience.
Unless you do something different or you need something specific for your case.

Pingupp · 19/08/2020 16:09

@ksusha20 so on my list are :-
Buserelin
Oeatradiol
Cyclogest
Lubion
And more oestrogen gel

Is that about right?

Cleozeta · 20/08/2020 10:43

I have oestrogen patches, progesterone pessaries and progesterone injections for after transfer. I think that's it.

ksusha20 · 20/08/2020 12:04

@pingupp
Oeatradiol - this is for lining to thicken
Both below are progesterone, just different form.
Cyclogest
Lubion
I have been taking cyclogest. Lubion they added only after I got pregnant and my progesterone level test was done (I requested this to be tested). The test was normal but on the lower edge. So they just suggested if I want to add injections (lubion)
I was taking buserlin when was stimulated for IVF with my OE. Was never prescribed it for FET.
I though that Oeatradiol is sufficient as it’s doing both thickens the lining and at the same time prevent follicle growth.
But I’m sure your clinic knows what they do.

Pingupp · 20/08/2020 12:38

@ksusha20 @Cleozeta
Thanks ladies.
I will query when I get to that stage.
Still waiting for AF so I can start sticking my patches on!! X

Parisinthesummer · 20/08/2020 15:15

Hi ladies, I’m doing my transfer tomorrow morning! Getting very nervous but excited 😬 I was wondering with the progesterone pessaries if you can have a bath when using these? Sorry if this seems stupid but I am afraid of doing something wrong. Thx

Cleozeta · 20/08/2020 17:56

@Parisinthesummer good luck for tomorrow! Mine is Saturday.
As for the pessaries, they absorb in about 20 minutes, so after that it doesn't matter what you do.

My update today(day 3) is there are 6 embryos, 3 are good quality, 1 is a bit wonky and 2 are slow growers apparently.

Parisinthesummer · 20/08/2020 18:20

@Cleozeta thanks! Best of luck to you too it’s a very exciting time. Hoping we get a good result! That’s great it’s a bath and early night for me so 😊

Pingupp · 20/08/2020 19:18

@Cleozeta @Parisinthesummer
Good luck ladies!! I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you xx

Sunbird24 · 20/08/2020 19:20

Good luck @Cleozeta & @Parisinthesummer! Hope everything works out for you both

Leala20 · 20/08/2020 22:10

@Parisinthesummer and @Cleozeta that’s amazing news!! What w great start. All the best on tomorrow and Saturday but it seems they are doing really well above the average for sure!!!

@Parisinthesummer good luck!

@Cleozeta good update on embryos! And good luck for tomorrow! Crossing absolutely everything for you! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Pingupp · 21/08/2020 08:17

Doing my own head in now. Just did a test and of course it was negative but for someone reason convinced myself we could of had a miracle because the lady who performed the internal scan said I had or was about to ovulate. This was on fri 7th August....
Anyway - negative test but still no AF so I can't start my patches.
Bad cramps for 4 days so far. No period since Dec last year.
Would you girls start taking the HRT now or wait a few more days?
Consultant wants my body to get into a good cycle so when ( fingers crossed a donor is found- she can switch me to the other meds quickly)

Sunbird24 · 21/08/2020 08:51

All my drugs just arrived. Had a minor panic attack when I saw the size of some of the needles but then found the instructions in the bottom of the box. People should be warned in advance that the mahoosive ones are just for getting stuff out of the vial and then you switch them out for the weeny one! That was not mentioned on the demo video I watched!

Pingupp · 21/08/2020 11:12

@Sunbird24 good to know thanks!!

tikha · 21/08/2020 17:37

@Parisinthesummer welcome and hope the transfer went well..
@Cleozeta exciting news..
@Sunbird24 its good to know that you will be starting soon..
Just recovered from my nights.. but not much else happening with me apart from playing the waiting game.
